Lin Zhi and the others were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. The severely and mildly injured patients packed two nearby hospitals to the brim.
The multi-vehicle pileup had a massive impact and was all over the TV news. Fortunately, casualties were light. Aside from the truck driver who died on the spot, Zhou Congli's driver suffered a leg injury that would keep him bedridden for three to five months, and Assistant Zhang broke two ribs. Everyone else escaped with minor injuries.
Investigations revealed that the truck driver had been drinking. However, based on surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts from surrounding vehicles and pedestrians, it was clearly a targeted assassination attempt against Zhou Congli. Given the severity of the situation, the police immediately launched an investigation.
Unexpectedly, they uncovered someone else: Zhang Wenhua.
