When Olivia Wynne and Zachary Fairchild returned to the private room, only Liam Lanier was there. Zachary glanced around, and Liam, ever perceptive, chimed in, "Vice Minister Collins took a call and left."
"His phone's speaker was on pretty loud. I think I heard the person on the other end telling him to pay back a debt."
Liam Lanier added with a touch of schadenfreude.
Upon hearing this, Zachary's dark eyes grew thoughtful. "Pay back a debt?"
"That's right," Liam confirmed.
After asking the question, Zachary walked over to his seat and sat down, not pursuing the topic any further.
Olivia's mind was entirely on the delicious food. Paying no mind to Zachary and Liam's conversation, she sat down and began to eat.
With no outsiders around, she actually felt more at ease while eating.
Zachary glanced over at Olivia. Seeing how much she was enjoying her food, a smile touched his eyes. With his long, slender hand, he picked up a piece of braised pork rib and placed it in her bowl.
