The man put away his keys and walked into the house, his expression calm.
Olivia paused for a moment, swallowing the words she was about to say. She walked over and sat down on the other side of the matriarch.
As for the matriarch, she took a light sip of water, then glanced nonchalantly at Zachary. "Didn't you say you had work?"
The man walked into the room, looking perfectly at ease. His voice was calm. "I'm done."
Olivia sat quietly to the side, silently grumbling to herself. 'If he's done, why did Liam Lanier just tell me he was busy?'
The matriarch looked from Zachary to Olivia, then said to her grandson in an earnest tone, "You're a married man now. You're not the only one living in this house anymore. From now on, come home early after you get off. Try to get your work done during office hours."
Olivia stole a glance at Zachary. She saw him adjust his posture before speaking in a deep voice, "It makes no difference whether I'm home or not."
