Olivia Wynne waited by the side of the road for about ten minutes before Zachary Fairchild pulled up in his car.
Olivia glanced over, saw the familiar car, and quickly got inside.
"That was fast."
Zachary Fairchild waited for Olivia to get settled before starting the car. He glanced back and said, "I was in the neighborhood, so I came right over."
A faint sense of disappointment washed over Olivia, and she murmured, "Oh."
As if sensing her mood, Zachary glanced back before nonchalantly turning to face the road again. Still, he kept a watchful eye on the person in the back seat from the corner of his eye.
They drove the rest of the way in silence. When they got home, Zachary headed straight for the kitchen. Olivia hesitated in the living room for a moment before following him in to help.
"Is there anything I can do to help?"
Zachary was washing vegetables. When he saw Olivia come in, he naturally took a step back to make room. "Yes. You can wash the vegetables."
