Following behind Mrs. Fairchild, Olivia glanced back at Zachary, and the corner of her mouth twitched.
'Zachary's hands are already laden with shopping bags, and they still want to buy more?'
Today, she was getting a real taste of a woman's capacity for shopping.
'Mrs. Fairchild wasn't even buying anything for herself. She'd already bought a dozen or so items of clothing and jewelry just for me.'
When Olivia tried to refuse, Mrs. Fairchild immediately chimed in, "You can't refuse a gift from an elder."
"Is it that you don't like this one? If you don't, we'll just have her bring out something new."
Because of Mrs. Fairchild's persistence, for every item she picked out, they had to buy it. Before Olivia knew it, they had purchased over a dozen things.
But Mrs. Fairchild wasn't satisfied yet. She and Old Mrs. Fairchild were still looking.
Standing in front of a white dress, Mrs. Fairchild called out to Olivia, "Olivia, come over here."
"Here, go try this dress on."
