When she took the receipt, the cashier was nonchalant, certain that Olivia Wynne couldn't possibly be customer number 712. But a moment later, her expression changed.
Her eyes stared intently at the number, as if she could bore a hole right through it.
Olivia stood to the side, waiting quietly. Seeing that the cashier just stared at the receipt without doing anything, she couldn't help but speak up. "I'm customer number 712. The promotion said my purchase would be free. Is it?"
The cashier was a professional, after all. She took a deep breath to suppress her doubt and dissatisfaction, then forced a smile. "Of course, your purchase is free. Please wait a moment while I get the manager."
A bill for over three hundred thousand couldn't be waived just like that. It required a manager's signature.
The cashier went to find her manager, leaving the people in line behind them waiting.
Olivia stood quietly beside Zachary Fairchild, waiting patiently.
