Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: Genos vs. Mosquito Girl

Chapter 130: Genos vs. Mosquito Girl

A secluded research institute in the suburbs of Z City.

A young man with dark green hair, wearing a suit and glasses, stared intently at King's full-body photo on the computer screen.

He gripped the edge of the desk tightly with both hands, a fiery glint in his eyes. "Heaven has a path, but you chose not to take it; Hell has no gate, yet you barged right in. King, I never expected you to come to Z City. This is my territory, after all. I'll be sure to give you a warm welcome, and while I'm at it, I'll extract your blood for its genetic material. I'll use you as a test subject to advance our species' evolution experiment."

That's right, this man was the mad scientist who once sent clones to assassinate King because he coveted his blood—Genos.

"Hahaha."

At the thought of possibly obtaining the blood of the strongest man on the planet, Genos couldn't help but beam with excitement. He eagerly asked his clone assistant, #28, "#28, has Mosquito Girl started her operation yet?"

"If my calculations are correct, Mosquito Girl has already summoned a mosquito swarm to invade Z City. Sir, do you think the swarm can successfully extract King's blood? And how will we analyze and extract King's genes from Mosquito Girl's complex reserves?"

In the shadows, a man who looked exactly like the young scientist, wearing an old-fashioned white prison uniform with the number "28" marked on his chest, nodded.

Genos took a deep breath, sat down again, propped up his chin, and smiled confidently. "I have my ways."

...

"What?"

The attacking mosquito swarm was completely annihilated!

Mosquito Girl's pupils shrank as she stared in shock at the human below. As the black smoke dissipated, the human's true form was revealed. Her mosquito skin's heat sensors told her that the round hole in this guy's palm was still emitting an extremely high temperature.

"I'm going to eliminate you." Genos's tone remained flat, but his words carried a hint of killing intent. "Just stay right there and don't move." As he spoke, the round opening in his right palm, which had been aimed at Mosquito Girl from a distance, began to gather tremendous heat again.

"Eliminate me? Hehe." Mosquito Girl snapped back to her senses, looking mockingly at the tiny human on the ground. She pointed at Genos and shouted, "Then bring it on! I'd like to see who has the last laugh."

"Incinerate!"

Boom!

Another spark-scattering Incineration Cannon shot into the sky.

"Too slow! An energy cannon at this speed can only eat my dust."

Mosquito Girl watched the Incineration Cannon shoot toward her and smiled tauntingly. The six pairs of thin, transparent, and fragile cicada-like wings on her back twitched slightly. She demonstrated her power and confidence with a move that had her body practically grazing the blast.

"Speed is power, you idiot!"

"Speed, huh?"

Genos's eyes narrowed. The two vortex engines on his shoulders activated, spraying out two jets of blue flame. He crouched slightly and stomped his foot. With a boom, the ground shattered, and his body shot toward Mosquito Girl like a rocket.

"Machine Gun Blows!"

His mechanical fists struck Mosquito Girl as fast as a machine gun, leaving a blur of afterimages.

"Oh? Interesting."

Mosquito Girl giggled, raising her two hook-like forearms to block Genos's attack with a series of clangs.

"Get down!"

Her hook-like right hand suddenly slammed into Genos's head.

Pfft!

Caught off guard, Genos fell rapidly. Suddenly, the vortex engines on his shoulders flared to life, spewing blue flames. His arms instantly transformed into rapidly spinning helicopter rotors, allowing him to briefly slow his descent before landing.

Screech!

The immense inertia caused his body to slide a long distance. He paid it no mind. The moment he regained his footing, he immediately raised his right palm, aimed at Mosquito Girl in the sky, and said coldly, "Incinerate!"

Boom!

Red light erupted as a fiery dragon soared and roared toward the heavens.

"Hehe, I told you, this kind of sluggish energy cannon is useless against me! Why don't you ever learn?"

Mosquito Girl scoffed as her six pairs of wings flapped rapidly. Her graceful body weaved around the Incineration Cannon like a butterfly as she dove. Moving at super-high speed, she charged fiercely at Genos.

Rip!

With a sound like tearing cloth, Genos's steel mechanical left arm was destroyed by Mosquito Girl in a single encounter.

"Heh~ Next, I'll tear off your legs." The proboscis on Mosquito Girl's head, which one might mistake for an ornament, was skewering a mechanical arm. However, just as she finished her triumphant taunt, her body suddenly felt strangely unresponsive. She looked down in confusion at the source of the discomfort and discovered that the parts of her legs below the calf had also been torn off. Apparently, due to her incredible speed, she hadn't felt any pain yet.

"Huh? Where are my legs?"

Clap!

With his only remaining right hand, Genos casually tossed aside two enlarged mosquito limbs. His cold eyes were fixed on Mosquito Girl as she flew through the sky.

"Ah?"

Sensing something was wrong, she turned and quickly ascended.

"It's useless." Genos raised his right arm and fired another Incineration Cannon at Mosquito Girl. Illuminated by the firelight, his expression grew even colder. "Don't even think about escaping from my grasp."

Mosquito Girl flapped her wings, dodging the Incineration Cannon as it swept past. She looked down in frustration at the relentless cyborg below. "What the hell is this guy? At this rate, I'm going to be taken out sooner or later!"

No, the mission the laboratory gave me isn't complete yet. How can I fail now?

Her graceful figure spun in mid-air. Seeing no more people in the city, she looked up at the forest not far away and smiled seductively. "Although the people on the streets have all hidden, the animals in the forest are a different story."

Buzz!

In the forest, the mosquito swarm drained every creature they encountered like a plague of locusts, leaving shriveled animal carcasses, completely emptied of blood, scattered across the ground.

"Come, my children. Inject the juices you have accumulated for so long into my body!"

She smiled charmingly and spread her arms wide, revealing her curvaceous figure. Paired with her bizarre words, it stirred a strange fire of desire in one's heart.

Buzz!

At her command, the mosquito swarms in the forests surrounding Z City surged toward her like sharks drawn to the scent of decay. In an instant, black torrents gathered from all directions, several times more numerous than before.

In a moment, the mosquitoes around Mosquito Girl formed a large, black tornado, a terrifying sight from a distance.

Genos watched the terrifying swarm, his gaze tightening. "So many mosquitoes... If the swarm has collected blood from this entire city... No, if it has collected blood from animals over an even wider area, then it's likely not just for sustenance." With that much blood, if it's not for food, it must be for combat power. Is she using the energy from the blood to evolve? If so, she'll be even more troublesome once her evolution is complete.

He frowned. "I need to eliminate her as quickly as possible." As he thought this, the energy sphere in his right palm began to swell at a visible rate.

"Stop right there!"

Just then, a flustered and exasperated voice shouted from behind him, accompanied by the slapping of slippers on the pavement. It forced him to cancel the powerful Incineration Cannon he had been charging for so long.

Buzz!

Following the voice was the faint buzzing of a single mosquito.

"Damn it, we haven't even settled the score yet! How could you run away?!"
