Chapter 34 - chapter 34

Chapter 34

As Erina was lost in thought, looking up she noticed that Adam had disappeared from his spot, and as she turned her head and scanned the whole room, her eyes suddenly narrowed.

In the crowd of people who were chatting, she saw his disappearance into the grand hall, and as she frowned, another person approached her.

"Miss." a low voice but tinged with respect was heard beside her, she turned her head in the direction of the voice.

At her left side a woman had appeared, she was short in stature but her face with mature features left no doubt that she was a mature person, she had short black hair with a serious and cold expression.

If Elara had been there, she would surely have taken her for Stephanie's sister, "Miss, what did you and the saint discuss?" she asked a question that at first glance seemed out of place, but Erina who was addressed did not seem offended but smiled.

Her smile was dangerous, as if she were ready to eat her prey, the small woman recognized that it was a sign of anger.

After a few moments Erina answered her question "What did we talk about? Of course as always, this Adam who loves to let it be known that he is some kind of special person while being a hypocrite."

Her voice low so as not to be overheard without a trace of respect while calling the saint by his real name, it seemed that she was used to saying words like these, but the small woman's eyes widened for 1 fraction of a second before concentrating.

"Tell me Sabrina, what do you think of 'Him'?" the little girl named Sabrina had a pang in her heart upon hearing this question, because for any normal person on this planet would know that this tone and this pronoun is only used to speak of 'Him' the sun god.

But the expected answer did not come as she observed her friend, she noticed a trace of terror on her pale and white face.

"Miss please avoid this kind of question, for the love of god." in a trembling voice and lower than usual, her body shaking.

Those passing beside them couldn't help but cast an extra glance while whispering, but as it was an evening between powerful people, no one took a step forward but rather observed.

Seeing Sabrina's situation and her surroundings attracting more and more attention, Erina with a graceful gesture and a completely smiling face informed the others while apologizing, "All my apologies, my friend here seems to be feeling unwell."

This excuse allowed her to take her and bring her back to an empty room so she could rest, while walking she couldn't help cursing herself for being so stupid.

"How could I have forgotten that she was present when that event started and that she saw her family being killed under "the sun god's justice" "

As she moved faster than normal, the sounds of discussion and instruments disappeared into the background, her gaze caught a silhouette at the top of the stair steps.

Of all the people present, he was the last one she wanted to see at this moment, as she masked her displeasure at the man's approach.

With a smile glued to her face, she said nothing but continued to move forward after a polite nod of the head.

"I wonder what earns us the honor of your visit on this special day?" in a calm voice he asked the question while watching the evening taking place below, every time someone addressed a greeting to him, he responded with a smile.

Footsteps echoed in the back, but he didn't turn around in the least and continued, a female voice full of teasing answered his question, "Oh My, am I not one of today's stars, after all it's my daughter who is the cause of this whole evening"

As Adam turned around to look at the new uninvited guests, he saw for the 1st time with his own eyes the group of 4 to which his dear wife belonged.

"Good evening to you, this is the 1st time we meet in person." his greeting, which was out of courtesy, made the smallest figure in the group of 4 frown.

"It's been a long time since the last time, 2-3 months?" Kafka dressed in a long purple dress spoke while casting a glance at Silver Wolf by her side.

Adam assumed a thoughtful posture as if he were genuinely thinking and answered slowly, "It's been exactly 2 months and 3 weeks, so almost 3 months."

Observing the group, his gaze scanned them all, whether it was the only man present or the two women, he thought "If Klein were here he would surely think that he wants to create a harem for himself" this thought coming out of nowhere made him laugh a little.

Seeing him laugh all of a sudden, the group of 4 fell into confusion, Silver Wolf whispering so that only the 4 could hear, "Hey Kafka, didn't you say your 'husband' was emotionless, so why is he laughing now?"

"I hope you know I'm not deaf, Miss... Silver Wolf, right?" Adam's voice rang out, taking Silver Wolf out of her state of failed secrecy.

"Hey how do you know my name? And what do you mean that we meet for the 1st time in person?" Silver Wolf attacked Adam with several questions upon hearing him call her by her name and the strangeness of earlier.

The 3 other members of her group all sighed seeing her like that, which led Silver Wolf to look at them in confusion, and she retorted aggressively, "What's wrong? Why the sigh?"

Hands crossed over her chest she asked her questions, which earned her a little laugh from Firefly and Kafka; as for Blade? Still cold and serious.

Adam observed them without saying anything, seeing people act so familiar with him reminded him of his time before his reincarnation where he spent time bickering with his friends.

Unconsciously his smile became not warmer, but softer, more authentic.

Sorry for the delay, but I decided to create a webnovel, which took me some time because I built a world bible explaining the cosmology, the MC, certain characters, and the power system. Since I'm really invested in this novel, I have a question: do you know where I could find an artist/illustrator? Also, I'd love to know if anyone would be interested in reading it and giving me their feedback.
