Chapter 6 - God Touch Awakens

Several days passed.

Ethan slowly opened his eyes.

His vision was blurry at first, but as his eyes adjusted, he realized he was lying on the cold ground of the dungeon.

He slowly pushed himself up.

Then he looked around.

"Wait"

His eyes widened.

"I'm in the dungeon."

He slowly stood up, still confused.

"I'm not dead yet."

He looked around again.

"I'm not dead."

He repeated the words as if he needed to convince himself.

Then his memories slowly began returning.

"Ah"

He held his head.

"Yes. I remember now."

"I was teleported."

His eyes widened.

"I saw it There was a magic circle."

He looked around the empty dungeon.

"That means it must have been a teleportation circle."

Ethan slowly sighed.

"But still"

He clenched his fists.

"I almost died."

His expression darkened.

"I almost lost everything."

There was too much for him to process.

Too much had happened in such a short amount of time.

And now, after everything, he was alone in the dungeon.

His stomach suddenly growled.

Grrrrrrr!

Ethan froze.

He placed a hand over his stomach.

"Damn"

"I'm starving."

He looked around.

The part of the dungeon he had been teleported to was completely empty.

As he stood there, more of his memories began resurfacing.

The spear.

The pain.

The spear being driven straight through his leg.

The sword being shoved into his stomach.

The feeling of his own blood pouring out of his body.

His breathing became heavier.

Then

A sharp pain suddenly struck his head.

"AH!"

Ethan grabbed his head tightly and dropped to one knee.

His entire body began trembling.

Sweat covered his face.

"I remember"

He gritted his teeth.

"I remember everything."

Those people.

Sela.

Strang.

Leo.

Tense.

His expression slowly became filled with anger.

"Those people"

His hands clenched into fists.

"They treated me like that."

His eyes became cold.

"I'll make them pay."

"I will."

He slowly stood back up.

"I'll never forget what they did to me."

Ethan took a deep breath.

"I know what it feels like to stand on the brink of death now."

He looked down at his hands.

"And for some reason, they kept talking about the Goddess."

He scoffed.

"I don't care about some Goddess."

His eyes narrowed.

"I don't care who she is."

"I'll kill them."

He paused.

"And their Goddess too."

Ethan began walking through the dungeon.

After walking for a while, he came across a huge door standing in front of him.

He looked down at himself.

He was wearing simple clothes, with a small piece of armor covering his chest and cotton trousers.

He placed his hand against the massive door.

Then he pushed.

Creak

The enormous door slowly opened.

Ethan stared at it.

"Wow"

He blinked.

"It opened."

He stepped through.

Then he suddenly stopped.

"Wait"

He looked at his body.

"For some reason"

He moved his arms.

"Why do I feel lighter?"

He clenched his fists.

"And stronger?"

Ethan suddenly remembered.

"Wait."

His eyes widened.

"I remember now."

"The system"

He quickly looked around.

"There was something"

He focused his attention.

A familiar blue screen appeared before him.

Ethan stared at it in shock.

Everything that had once displayed Ability: Unknown or Skill: Unknown had changed.

His eyes moved across the screen.

[Skill: SSS Rank]

[Ability: SS God Touch]

[Fire Magic]

[Flight]

Ethan's mouth slowly opened.

"What?"

He continued looking.

Then he reached the status section.

The number that had always remained at zero had changed.

[Strength: +50]

[HP: +50]

[NP: +50]

Ethan stared at the numbers.

"What the hell?"

He couldn't believe his eyes.

Then his attention returned to one particular ability.

[God Touch]

"What the hell is this God Touch ability?"

Ethan tapped it.

The screen glitched for a moment.

Then another blue window opened.

[God Touch]

[With a single touch, the user can take the ability of any being.]

Ethan froze.

"What the hell?"

He stared at the description.

He tapped the screen again and pushed it to the side.

Another notification appeared.

[God Touch SSS Rank]

[Locked]

Ethan's eyes widened.

"Just what the hell is this?"

His stomach suddenly growled again.

Grrrrrrr!

He immediately grabbed his stomach.

"Ah"

He looked down.

"I'm still starving."

But then a smile slowly appeared on his face.

"Wait"

His eyes began shining with excitement.

"Does this mean"

"My life could actually change?"

He suddenly remembered the Bloodfang Wyvern.

"Not only that"

"I took the Bloodfang Wyvern's ability."

He looked at his hands.

"I didn't actually defeat it"

"But I took part of its ability."

He clenched his fist.

"And that ability increased my strength."

Ethan suddenly jumped.

BOOM!

His body bounced off the ground and soared higher than he expected.

He landed several feet away.

He stared at the ground in shock.

"I really am stronger."

A smile spread across his face.

Then another thought entered his mind.

"Flight"

He looked up.

"If I have Flight"

"I should be able to fly."

Ethan bent his knees.

Then he jumped.

Nothing happened.

He landed back on the ground.

"Nothing."

He tried again.

He jumped harder.

Still nothing.

Ethan paused.

"Maybe I'm doing it wrong."

He closed his eyes.

He imagined himself rising into the air.

Slowly

His body began lifting off the ground.

Ethan's eyes remained closed.

"Wait"

His feet were no longer touching the ground.

"Am I moving up?"

He slowly opened his eyes.

His eyes widened.

"No"

He looked down.

He was several feet above the ground.

"I'm actually"

His concentration broke.

His body immediately dropped.

"AH!"

BOOM!

He slammed into the ground.

"Ouch!"

Ethan groaned as he slowly pushed himself up.

He rubbed his body.

"Damn"

He looked around the empty dungeon.

"I'm starving."

He placed a hand over his stomach.

"I need to get out of here."

He started walking again.

"But"

He looked ahead.

"Just where the hell am I?"

"What floor am I on?"
