Chapter 70 - Chapter 70 – The Night Hufflepuff Died

And most importantly—

The Ravenclaw currently at Hogwarts is not the real Rowena Ravenclaw.

Perhaps the true Ravenclaw is already dead.

And perhaps…

…I will soon join her.

Please remember the name Marie-Pool.

After reading this letter, the very first thing you must do is immediately return to Hogwarts and tell Gryffindor everything.

Everything.

Then make him kill the false Ravenclaw currently hiding within the school.

The second thing:

You must not attempt to search for me.

Live peacefully and normally.

If you absolutely refuse to listen, then only allow Gryffindor to investigate the traces I left behind. Perhaps only he possesses the strength necessary to survive.

The third thing:

Return to my family and do not tell them about my death.

Make sure my father's bloodline continues onward.

Perhaps after all these years I even have additional younger brothers now.

This request may no longer matter…

…but please tell my father that I love him very much.

I stay—

The letter ended abruptly.

The final lines looked rushed and chaotic, as though Slytherin had been interrupted by some sudden danger before he could finish writing.

Logan stood nearby in complete shock.

Slytherin…

Dead?

Was this real?

And what exactly was "Marie-Pool"?

Was it connected to his death somehow?

Meanwhile, after reading the letter, Hufflepuff's eyes instantly reddened.

Tears streamed uncontrollably down her face.

Perhaps because she was overwhelmed by the contents of the letter…

Or perhaps because her emotions completely shattered her awareness of the surroundings…

She failed to notice the figure slowly appearing behind her.

A ghostly silhouette silently emerged from the darkness.

Hufflepuff remained entirely unaware.

Logan's expression changed instantly.

"Behind you!"

He shouted instinctively.

But it was useless.

Inside this memory world, nobody could hear him.

No matter how loudly he yelled, he remained nothing more than an invisible observer.

Hufflepuff merely clutched Slytherin's letter tightly while silently crying.

Then—

A sharp arm suddenly pierced directly through her chest.

Blood sprayed violently into the air.

Logan froze.

Hufflepuff staggered forward in agony before slowly turning around.

The figure behind her finally revealed its face.

Rowena Ravenclaw.

Or rather…

The thing wearing Ravenclaw's body.

Her once elegant appearance had become horrifying.

Her mouth stretched unnaturally wide, nearly reaching her ears.

The whites of her eyes and pupils appeared reversed.

Even her long hair floated upward unnaturally as though gravity no longer applied to her.

"It's… you…"

Hufflepuff barely forced the words out through unbearable pain.

The creature smiled grotesquely.

"Of course it's me."

"You already suspected something was wrong with me long ago, didn't you?"

Its distorted voice sounded strangely amused.

"So why continue investigating?"

"I possess Ravenclaw's body. Her intelligence. Her magic."

"I even inherited her thoughts and memories."

The monster slowly tilted its head.

"Why can't you simply accept me as her?"

"Why insist on uncovering the truth?"

Hufflepuff immediately roared through clenched teeth.

"Shut up, you imposter!"

"Your identity will eventually be exposed!"

"And when that day comes…"

"You'll die horribly!"

The creature laughed.

"Horribly?"

"At Hogwarts, who exactly could kill me now?"

"Slytherin disappeared years ago."

"Gryffindor may be powerful, but he's an idiot."

"And you…"

"…are about to die."

Its smile widened further.

"After tonight, the secret that I am not Ravenclaw will vanish forever."

"From this moment onward…"

"I am Rowena Ravenclaw."

The creature leaned closer.

"So tell me…"

"How exactly do you imagine I'll suffer some terrible death?"

Then suddenly—

Its arm twisted violently inside Hufflepuff's body, shredding flesh and organs apart.

Hufflepuff cried out painfully.

Yet even then, she continued glaring at the monster defiantly.

"You think you've already won?"

"You're dreaming!"

The instant she finished speaking—

A beam of silver light suddenly erupted from behind her.

BOOM!

The attack slammed directly into Ravenclaw's back and launched the creature violently through the air.

It crashed into a nearby tree with tremendous force.

At the same moment, the silver light returned to Hufflepuff's hand.

A simple silver cup.

No decorations.

No unnecessary beauty.

Just a plain silver cup glowing faintly beneath the moonlight.

Ravenclaw slowly stood back up while staring coldly at the artifact.

"A silver cup?"

"I remember your house treasure being a golden cup."

Its expression twisted slightly.

"So you hid another one."

Hufflepuff coughed violently, blood spilling from her lips.

"They were originally meant to be a pair," she explained weakly.

"When I purchased the materials from the goblins, I designed one cup for ceremony…"

"And another for combat."

Even while speaking, blood continuously flowed from her wounds.

Seeing that, the false Ravenclaw slowly lifted her hand toward her mouth.

Then she licked the blood from her fingers.

Logan's scalp immediately went numb.

"That tastes wonderful," the creature sighed happily.

"Far better than animal flesh."

Its eyes slowly swept across Hufflepuff's wounded body.

"Don't worry."

"After you die, I certainly won't waste such a beautiful corpse."

Despite appearing relaxed, the creature clearly remained cautious.

The burn marks across its body already proved something important.

Helga Hufflepuff's strength absolutely rivaled Ravenclaw's.

If tonight's attack hadn't been a successful ambush…

The outcome may have been completely different.

Meanwhile, Hufflepuff could already feel her life rapidly fading away.

The damage was too severe.

No magic could reverse this now.

She was a witch.

Not a god.

But the greatest regret wasn't her death.

It was the fact that she could no longer return to Hogwarts and warn Gryffindor personally.

The monster was still hiding within the castle.

And nobody knew.

Then suddenly, determination appeared in Hufflepuff's eyes.

She still possessed one final spell.

A perfect spell for this moment.

Perhaps someday…

Someone would eventually discover the truth.

She believed that firmly.

Hufflepuff slowly raised the silver cup and stared directly at the false Ravenclaw.

"You think you've already won?"

"This Silver Cup has recorded everything that happened tonight."

"One day, someone will uncover it."

"And when they do…"

"Your disgusting identity will finally be exposed!"

The instant she finished speaking, Hufflepuff activated the final magic of her life.

A sacred oath.

"I, Helga Hufflepuff…"

"…hereby swear upon my life itself…"

"…to complete this spell!"

Golden and silver light instantly erupted around her.

"The being before me wearing Rowena Ravenclaw's body…"

"…shall never touch this Silver Cup."

"She shall never…"

"…ever return to this place again!"

The moment the vow finished, Hufflepuff's entire body became engulfed in brilliant golden-silver radiance.

Then—

Her body transformed into pure light and shot toward the distant lake.
