Chapter 321 - JTH Chapter 321: The Dimensional Rift Deep Beneath the Sea

*Wait, what are so many Caster-class Heroic Spirits doing here? Starting a rebellion? And what's with all these spell formations? What are you guys up to?*

"Did I come at a bad time?" Ren Isana stared blankly at the scene unfolding before him. How bizarre—a massive gathering of Caster-class spirits? Even Scáthach was here.

"No, you're right on time! Hurry up and help, we need your assistance!" Da Vinci's eyes lit up the moment she saw Ren Isana step through the portal, and she hurriedly waved him over.

His timing couldn't have been more perfect. Now they could finish this in one go. Even though the combined Magic Power of all these Heroic Spirits was technically enough, it still paled in comparison to what Ren Isana possessed alone.

Ren Isana's arrival meant the arrival of an endless supply of Magic Power. What a stroke of luck! Da Vinci was absolutely thrilled—his Magic Power was practically infinite, after all.

Hearing Da Vinci's words, Ren stepped out of the spatial passage in confusion. He casually anchored the portal in place before asking, "What exactly are you all doing?"

There were simply too many spell formations, and they were incredibly complex, continuously spreading outward with this spot as the epicenter. Ren couldn't make heads or tails of it. What was this massive array even for?

"I'm planning to turn all of Nexus Island into a city in the sky! Director Ken already agreed to it," Da Vinci explained with a beaming smile. This was the agreement she had reached with the Director.

She was in charge of modifying the entire floating island, and Director Ken wouldn't interfere. The island was going to be completely transformed into a mobile fortress, fully equipped with numerous offensive weapons.

It was safe to say that the entire island had already been converted into a weapon of war, just waiting to be activated. That was exactly why so many Caster-class Heroic Spirits had gathered here.

Aside from the ones present, the rest of the Caster-class spirits were scattered across other parts of the island. According to Da Vinci's calculations, if all these Casters poured every last drop of their Magic Power into the array, dissipated back to the Throne of Heroes, and then descended once more, it would be just about enough.

But now that Ren Isana was back, they didn't need to go to such extreme lengths. Ren could handle it all by himself, given his limitless Magic Power.

"Interesting. But I'm curious—why do this all of a sudden?" This was what puzzled Ren the most. It felt entirely out of the blue. There had to be a specific reason for such a massive undertaking.

"Allow me to explain!" Right at that moment, Director Ken walked in from outside, drawing Ren's gaze.

Director Ken walked up to Ren and slowly began to explain. "There is actually a Dimensional Rift located directly beneath Nexus Island. However, the world on the other side is quite powerful, so we've always been extremely cautious when dealing with them."

Director Ken elaborated on the situation. Their world had reached certain agreements with specific individuals from that other world—though the exact details were something only Pandora knew. In fact, many of the things currently on Nexus Island originally came from that world.

Technology like the various robots had all been brought over from there. Furthermore, the passage was kept in a sealed state, and Pandora was the only one capable of opening it. Now, Director Ken's idea was to simply relocate Nexus Island.

It just so happened that Da Vinci had a plan, and he had an idea. The two hit it off immediately and finalized the project on the spot. Even Pandora had given her approval.

As one of the earliest worlds to appear, it was indeed time to start properly developing that passage. Although communication had never truly ceased, it had always been strictly limited to exchanges between the higher-ups.

Listening to Director Ken, Ren felt incredibly surprised. "All our technology came from over there? Is it a high-tech world?"

This was the first time he was hearing any of this. At the same time, something felt off. If it was just a technologically advanced world, there wouldn't be a need to go to such extreme lengths, right?

"It's not just technology. They even have magic. And... the innate talents you all awaken actually originate from that world as well, though they are slightly different~!" Director Ken revealed.

Ren was genuinely shocked by this revelation. The talents awakened in their world actually came from another world? Now that was interesting. It immediately piqued his curiosity about the place.

Just as he was about to ask more, Director Ken cut in. "Alright, if you want to know more about that world, you can go ask her later. For now, let's take care of the matter at hand."

As he spoke, his gaze shifted toward the fully constructed spell formations. Everything was set up and waiting to be activated. He had also already issued orders, telling the residents of Nexus Island not to panic.

The news that the entire island was about to lift off into the sky had already spread across Nexus Island, so everyone was actually quite looking forward to it. After all, this place was about to become a genuine floating city.

Hearing Director Ken's words, Ren didn't dwell on it any further. He walked straight over to Da Vinci and asked, "I just need to pour Magic Power into it, right?"

Without waiting for Da Vinci to answer, Ren sprang into action. He began pouring Magic Power into the array as if it cost him nothing. After all, he could understand how this thing worked. The area right beneath his feet was the Magic Power input node; as long as he injected his energy, the entire grand magic array would activate.

Seeing Ren's actions, Da Vinci immediately rolled her eyes. If he already knew how it worked, why even bother asking her? How exasperating.

As Ren flooded the system with his boundless Magic Power, the patterns on the ground began to glow, rapidly spreading outward. In mere moments, the energy surged from the library all the way out of the school grounds.

The entire campus floor was covered in intricate, glowing lines. The students, who had been prepared for this, looked on in curiosity. The students from the Magic Department, in particular, were absolutely awestruck.

Because they couldn't understand a single bit of it. They felt like all their magic studies had been for nothing. How was something this complex even created? The combination of certain magical patterns was enough to make their heads spin.

Some even faintly realized that this didn't seem to belong to the magic system they were currently learning. Could it be knowledge from another world? Many were incredibly curious about the whole thing.

But no one was there to explain it to them right now. The glowing lines spread from the library to the school, then out onto the streets, frantically expanding across the entire island.

In that moment, all of Nexus Island was covered in complex magical patterns. Even after enveloping the entire island, the lines didn't stop—they continued to spread deep into the ocean.

They only halted once they had completely encased the island's foundation. The entire island began to emit a brilliant light. A moment later, a tremor shook the ground, and the island slowly began to rise as countless Magic Circles lit up one after another.

In just a few short minutes, Nexus Island was forcefully hoisted dozens of meters into the air, and it was still ascending. Meanwhile, Ren had already stopped his energy output.

He looked at Da Vinci and couldn't help but comment, "This is a seriously massive undertaking. You even shifted the surrounding space without damaging the island's foundation at all. I take it that unopened world passage is the one down on the seabed?"

While powering the array, Ren had naturally sensed the situation in the ocean, which was how he noticed a certain structure deep underwater. It was absolutely absurd—the passage had spawned directly in the sea. If it weren't for Pandora, probably no one would have ever known it existed.

"That's correct. If you're interested, you can go take a look. However, that world is very dangerous. If you want to cross over, you'll have to submit an application!" Director Ken wasn't surprised in the least that Ren had discovered it.

It would be weirder if Ren *hadn't* noticed it. The World Will had always been extremely cautious regarding that particular world. Even though she had signed contracts with certain individuals over there, she absolutely forbade anyone from crossing over casually.

All this time, Pandora had merely been continuously exchanging for technology and techniques from the other side. Then, based on the conditions of that world, she altered the rules of their own world, allowing the people here to uniformly awaken their talents at the appropriate time.

Ren stroked his chin, unable to stop his mind from racing. It seemed he still knew far too little about his own world. To think that such a spatial passage was hidden right here on Nexus Island.

Wait, hadn't this passage always been there? He just hadn't paid attention to it. When he first arrived on this island, he had heard rumors about something being beneath it, and that some structures had even been built there.

Ren muttered to himself, deciding not to dwell on the issue too much. But since such a world existed, he naturally wanted to go check it out. However, now didn't seem to be the right time.

After all, Pandora was currently busy digesting the Type-Moon world. She didn't have the time or energy to focus on this side, let alone arrange for Ren to travel to another world.

There was also an incredibly dangerous world passage over on the Type-Moon side, and Pandora hadn't allowed him to go there either. So what about this world? Would she permit it? He would have to ask Pandora to find out.

The world connected to Type-Moon seemed even more dangerous, as Pandora had stated it was the strongest world to appear so far. Surely the world beneath Nexus Island wasn't as dangerous as that one, right?

Maybe he really could go over. Plus, he was incredibly curious—what kind of agreement had the people of that world reached with Pandora?

And then there was the technology, as well as the innate talents he and the others possessed.

All of these things were starting to give Ren an inexplicable sense of familiarity. If it was just the talents alone, Ren might not have thought much of it, simply taking it for granted like in some high-tier martial arts worlds.

But a world that had both advanced technology *and* magic, and was so dangerous that people weren't allowed to cross over? Putting all those elements together instantly sent a "Bilibili" jolt of electricity flashing through Ren's mind!

*Could it really be the world I'm thinking of? Like A Certain Magical Index? Are the "dangerous" elements the Magic Gods? Are our awakened talents actually Esper abilities? Just modified by Pandora.*

*And the one who made the agreement with Pandora... could it be that cross-dressing bigwig floating in a tube of formalin, or maybe an angel? Was our technology supplied by him? Could the agreement be about helping them take down the Magic Gods?*
