Mr. Su Bai bent down and directly grabbed the thing that looked like an eel in his hand. This thing was thicker and larger than the average eel but even slicker. In terms of texture, it was more akin to a sponge, and it was greasy all over, as if it had just been soaked in lard.
And, Mr. Su Bai couldn't find a mouth or any orifice on this creature; it was completely sealed - no head, no face, no legs, and no feet. If one wasn't holding it and feeling it wriggle, you wouldn't think it was a living thing.
From time to time, a "sizzling" noise came from his palm, like water poured into a boiling pot of oil. But if one were to look closely with a magnifying glass, you could see that there was actually a negligible distance between Mr. Su Bai's palm and the eel, and this gap is what kept the eel's naturally secreted corrosive liquid from causing real harm to Mr. Su Bai.
