Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: You've Worked Hard, Hang in There!

Three days later, Chi Feichi finally saw the emails in his inbox.

Almost one every half hour, totaling over ten messages.

From the temporary storage point to asking if he had been busy lately, and even a few casual chats, making him suspect the contact person on the other side was just waiting to chat all day.

"Are the Public Security Police this free?"

Chi Feichi put away his phone and continued driving the delivery truck.

At 7 AM, the morning mist had not yet dispersed.

Takagi Wataru walked towards the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department while eating bread, cheering himself on. "Alright, another day of arriving early. Must work hard today!"

A delivery truck slowly drove past him, and a low, raspy voice faded away with it. "...Officer... worked hard... hang in there."

Takagi Wataru was stunned, and his mood instantly brightened. He responded loudly, "You've worked hard too! Hang in there!"

Inside the truck, Feichi poked his head out quietly. "This officer is really cute. Did he not hear clearly what Master said just now?"

"Probably didn't hear clearly," Chi Feichi parked the truck in front of the temporary storage point near the MPD. "But this person is quite energetic."

Feichi broke a sweat. Hearing Chi Feichi say this in such a calm tone, that feeling of boiling blood and high motivation completely vanished...

After parking the truck, Chi Feichi cleaned up the traces on the driver's seat and opened the door to get out.

"So it was an older brother..."

Behind him, Takagi Wataru, who had caught up, sighed with emotion.

Although the other person was bundled up tight, with his collar pulled high and wearing cold-proof gloves, Takagi could tell at a glance that it was a sturdy middle-aged man.

Delivering packages to the MPD so early in the morning must be hard work. And the man didn't forget to encourage him; what a good person...

Hm? Wait, delivering packages to the MPD?

Takagi Wataru hurriedly ran forward to remind him, "Uh, hello, this isn't an ordinary drop-off point. Look..."

Saying that, he pointed to the standing sign outside the prefabricated house.

Chi Feichi looked over. There was a line of large characters printed on the sign: [Unconventional Delivery Package Storage Point]

Takagi Wataru scratched his head and explained, "This is the MPD's special item storage point, so..."

"I'm delivering living packages," Chi Feichi tossed the keys to Takagi Wataru, turned around, and said in a low voice, "Also, what I said earlier was: Officer, please trouble yourself to call your colleagues later to move the stuff down together. You've worked hard, hang in there."

"Eh?" Takagi Wataru subconsciously caught the keys. When he looked up, he realized there was no one in front of him. Remembering the phrase 'living packages', he immediately thought of the 'Legend of July' and quickly ran into the MPD.

Six minutes later, a group of police officers ran out and had Takagi Wataru open the rear door of the truck with the keys.

In the back of the delivery truck, there were rows of large wooden crates.

The group of police officers counted silently.

One, two, three, four, five... a total of eleven crates, filling the entire truck!

"This..." A fierce-looking middle-aged police officer glanced sideways at Takagi Wataru. "Takagi, are you sure the guy said living packages?"

"Y-Yes..." Takagi Wataru was also a bit dumbfounded, suspecting for a moment if the guy had delivered to the wrong place.

If it was July delivering wanted criminals, one or two would be fine, but delivering a whole truckload? What was going on?

"Yes... Yes!" A police officer nearby hung up his phone and turned around. "The National Police Agency just called. They received an email from July. This whole truck is full of wanted criminals!"

The group of police officers silently looked up at the truck again.

In other words, they had to unload this whole truck?

Leaving aside unloading, they also had to dismantle the wooden frames, open the boxes, take the criminals in for verification and interrogation...

No, no, opening boxes is fine, but why are there wooden frames?

The fierce-looking middle-aged police officer turned to look at the colleague who had been on the phone, a slightly dazed look on his face. "Although arresting so many wanted criminals is a good thing, and moving things is just a minor issue for us, can we ask the NPA to contact July and tell him not to use wooden frames in the future..."

Takagi Wataru laughed dryly, and where no one could see, he let out a long sigh.

He understood what the other party meant by 'You've worked hard, hang in there'...

It wasn't a kind passerby cheering him on, but a devil assigning them a labor task...

A nearby park.

Chi Feichi removed his disguise and started his morning exercise.

Ding-dong!

A new email.

[The MPD asked if you could stop using wooden frames in the future?]

Chi Feichi decided to explain. He replied while running: [I didn't see your email before and didn't know you set up a storage point. It rained lightly last night, and it was foggy this morning. The humidity was too high, and cardboard boxes easily get damaged when damp, so I used wooden frames. I won't use them anymore now that there's a storage point.]

Ding-dong!

Kanemoto Noboru was guarding the computer and replied very quickly:

[That's good. But why did you suddenly catch so many people?]

This wasn't just one or two, but over ten at once. Leaving aside how July caught so many people in such a short time, he was a little worried July had suffered some kind of shock!

[Saw them, so I caught them.]

Chi Feichi replied truthfully.

He didn't see these people; Feimo did.

Feimo had been wandering around Tokyo for two or three years and had seen all sorts of people.

While in Hokkaido, he let Feimo log into his account to check the Bounty List.

Feimo recognized thirty-seven of them. Twenty-six couldn't be found; either Feimo didn't remember where he saw them, or they had moved and hidden elsewhere, or their appearance had changed too much.

Feimo flew around for two days, and could only confirm these eleven. To prevent complications, Chi Feichi returned to Tokyo yesterday and caught them at night according to the addresses provided by Feimo.

Although some were only worth three to five hundred thousand yen, mosquito legs were still meat.

Such an opportunity was a one-time thing. To catch people by address in the future, he would have to wait for Feimo to set up Tokyo's 'intelligence network', or see which unlucky guy Feimo accidentally spotted...

At the National Police Agency, Kanemoto Noboru was speechless.

Saw them, so caught them? What kind of answer is that?

There were so many police officers in Tokyo, coming and going on the streets every day, yet none of them caught eleven wanted criminals in such a short time.

Although July's actions were always fast, this was a bit exaggerated. Or perhaps...

"Could there be an organization behind July? Specifically providing him with intelligence?"

"Unlikely," a subordinate nearby looked at the closed door and whispered, "Zero's information is that he once went alone to buy guns. It doesn't look like he has an organization supporting him."

"Oh?" Kanemoto Noboru also lowered his voice. "Do we know what model of gun he bought? If possible..."

"That is currently unclear," the subordinate whispered. "No way to register it."

"It's already not easy to get this intelligence. At least we can determine whether there is an organization supporting him. As expected of Zero!" Kanemoto Noboru sighed with emotion, wondering if Zero already had a grasp of July's whereabouts.

The morning sun rose slowly, dispelling the morning mist. By the afternoon, the moisture on the ground had completely evaporated.

In front of the MPD, a group of police officers surrounded a delivery truck.

"Two more left!"

"Alright, everyone hang in there! Let's try to finish dismantling in half an hour!"

Two people were moving boxes on the truck, while two below were responsible for catching them. Then a group of people surrounded them, holding pliers, screwdrivers, and wrenches to dismantle the wooden frames, while others held scissors ready to open the cardboard boxes.

The Detective Boys stood outside the MPD gate, watching curiously for a while.

"The officers are so motivated," Ayumi said. "They even move the delivery packages themselves..."

"Could it be the eel rice lunch they ordered?" Genta's imagination ran wild. "Because they don't want anyone to steal the eel rice, they have to move it down personally!"

"No, no," Mitsuhiko said seriously. "Look carefully. Before opening the box, all the officers slow down with serious and vigilant expressions. It means there are dangerous items in the box, likely bombs or something. The officers are confirming which package the bomb is in..."
