Chapter 33 - Chapter 33: Went To Shanghai House

"But you said you sensed a beast's aura? Is it truly coming from that girl?" The companion asked, still unable to see through the illusion himself.

"Yeah." The masked man replied curtly.

He took a slow sip of his tea, his sharp gaze never once wavering from the girl as she navigated the street below.

He watched with keen interest as the girl stepped through the main entrance of the Shanghai House. He narrowed his eyes slightly, a silent calculation forming in his mind.

"Seven."

In an instant, a man dressed in charcoal-black robes appeared out of thin air, manifesting like a silent ghost. The subordinate bowed deeply before the masked man, his presence almost undetectable.

"Master." Seven acknowledged, waiting for his instructions.

"Investigate that girl. Find out exactly what her purpose is for visiting the Shanghai House tonight." The masked man ordered, his voice cold and commanding.

"Yes, Master." As quickly as he had appeared, Seven vanished into the shadows, leaving no trace behind.

.....

"Welcome, Young Master. How may I be of assistance to you today?" The storekeeper asked with a polite, practiced bow.

The Shanghai House followed a strict code of conduct. They never turned away a customer, regardless of their status. The staff were meticulously trained to treat every visitor with absolute respect, ensuring that no one felt slighted or disrespected.

The storekeeper observed the young man standing before him, estimating his age to be somewhere between twelve and fourteen years old. He could not help but wonder what such a young boy's objective could be in a place as complex as the Shanghai House.

"I wish to purchase some specific information. What is the procedure?" Bai Xifeng asked.

She consciously lowered the pitch of her voice, trying to mimic the deeper tone of a young male.

"Oh, if that is the case, please follow me." The storekeeper replied, gesturing for Bai Xifeng to walk with him.

Bai Xifeng was led down a quiet hallway to a highly sophisticated room, decorated with elegant furnishings. As she entered, she noticed a man sitting behind a polished wooden table. He looked up, revealing his features to her.

'Oh, good grief, another handsome man. Why are there so many stunning men in this world?' Bai Xifeng felt a sudden wave of annoyance wash over her. It felt almost unfair.

The handsome man across from her raised a curious eyebrow. He had clearly caught the flash of annoyance crossing the "young man's" face, though he couldn't fathom why he was receiving such a look.

"Manager Si, this gentleman is here to buy information. I will leave the customer in your capable hands." The storekeeper said respectfully before exiting and closing the door behind him.

"Hmm..." The handsome man nodded in acknowledgement. He then turned his focus back to the visitor. "Please, take a seat."

Bai Xifeng stepped forward and sat down directly across from the handsome stranger.

"My name is Si Ji Huang, and I serve as a manager here." The man introduced himself, his voice smooth and professional.

"My surname is Long. I have come here to acquire certain information." Bai Xifeng replied, providing a false identity without hesitation.

She was determined to keep the identity of the Third Young Miss from the House of General Bai a secret. Otherwise, people would surely become suspicious of her true motives.

"I see. And what specific information does Young Master Long seek to buy today?" Si Ji Huang asked, leaning forward slightly as he awaited her answer.
