"Oh, is that so? Regardless of your opinion, you are still nothing more than a servant, while I am a Young Lady of the Great General Bai's Mansion." Bai Xifeng said, her lips curling into a cold, dangerous smirk.
Before the maid could even process the words, Bai Xifeng delivered a swift, effortless kick to her midsection. The force was so immense that the maid was sent hurtling through the air, flying over twenty meters across the courtyard before crashing violently onto the hard ground. A deathly silence fell over the area as the remaining maids realized Bai Xifeng had been standing right behind them the entire time.
Panic began to set in. To kick a person so far that they actually took flight was an impossible feat for an ordinary person. How could a Young Lady who supposedly possessed no cultivation abilities whatsoever demonstrate such terrifying physical strength?
As Bai Xifeng approached Xiao Li, the other maids scrambled backward, practically tripping over their own feet to stay out of her reach. None of them wanted to be the next one sent flying.
"Young Miss..." Xiao Li whispered, her eyes shining with relief and joy at her mistress's sudden appearance.
Bai Xifeng ignored the others for a moment to carefully check Xiao Li for injuries. She felt a wave of relief when she saw that the girl hadn't sustained any serious harm, if she had seen blood, she would have done far more than just kick one of them.
"Now, tell me." Bai Xifeng began, her voice dropping to a low, icy tone as she addressed the intruders. "What exactly are you doing in my courtyard?"
Seeing that Bai Xifeng had not immediately attacked again, the maids tried to regain their composure. They told themselves that their momentary fear was foolish. This was just the "trash" Third Young Miss, she was a pariah in this mansion, and no one of importance would ever take her side.
"Third Young Miss, we serve in the Second Young Miss's courtyard." One of the maids said, her voice regaining its arrogant edge. "The Second Young Miss summoned you, but you were nowhere to be found when we arrived. We decided to question your maid, but she stubbornly refused to disclose your whereabouts."
Bai Xifeng studied the woman. Based on her haughty demeanor and expensive uniform, she assumed this was one of Bai Chunhua's high-ranking attendants.
"And so, your solution was to strike Xiao Li?" Bai Xifeng asked, her eyes narrowing.
"We were not 'striking' her. We were merely providing some much-needed discipline." The maid responded smugly. "It appears the Third Young Miss's staff is as incompetent as their mistress."
"Oh, really? Is that the logic we're using today?" Bai Xifeng raised her eyebrows in mock curiosity.
Without warning, Bai Xifeng stepped forward and delivered a stinging slap across the maid's face. The force of the blow snapped the woman's head to the side, leaving her gasping in shock.
"I'm not hitting you, I'm just 'teaching' you," Bai Xifeng said, throwing the maid's own words back at her. "You clearly seem to have forgotten who you are speaking to. Go back and tell your mistress that if she wants to see me so badly, she can drag her own fucking ass over here herself."
The maids stood frozen, paralyzed by the sheer audacity of her language and her violence.
"Now, get lost before I lose my patience." Bai Xifeng commanded.
The group scrambled to flee the courtyard, their arrogance completely shattered. As they ran, Bai Xifeng's voice rang out behind them, stopping them in their tracks.
"Hey! Don't forget to take your friend with you. I don't want her pathetic corpse rotting on my doorstep." Bai Xifeng called out, gesturing to the maid who was still lying unconscious in the dirt from the initial kick.
