Chapter 31 - Unwanted presence

She walked back to her room. She lounged around on her bed scrolling through her phone.

When it was time for dinner again she ate alone. She fiddled around with her fork and held her head In her hand. The other day she would've loved to eat alone but now she felt weird.

"Ms. Are you done eating?"

She looked up at the maid and smiled.

"Excuse me for a second."

She got up from the table and made her way up the stairs.

She stood out the master study, the door closed.

She raised her hand to knock but paused. She could easily leave it be and go to sleep but she felt that was wrong.

She knocked on the door.

"Come in."

She opened the door and walked in. Su LingTian was sitting at the desk a pile of paperwork surrounding him.

He was so enamored with his work that he hadn't looked up.

Clearing her throat she spoke.

"I've noticed you've been cooped up in here all day. I think it'd do you some good to take a break."

Hearing her voice he looked up in shock. Why was she here?

"I'm sorry but I'm a little busy right now. Thank y-."

Seeing she was being rejected she quickly spoke.

"I may not be a high and mighty CEO but I'm sure that working for 12 hours straight isn't good for anyone."

"How considerate." He smiled. He put his pen down and stood up.

"I guess you're right." He sighed as he walked past her.

She let out a sigh of relief and turned around. She planed to go to be but was shocked.

He stood there at the stairs staring straight at her.

"What?"

"What? Do you expect me to eat by myself?"

Li Hua started at him in disbelief.

"I've already ate."

"Oh. I'm sure you wouldn't mind sitting with me. I mean you did go out of your way."

Hearing that, she really started to regret her decision.

"Ah I see, I guess I'll just go back to work." He frowned and walked past her.

"Fine." She huffed and walked ahead down the stairs.

They sat in silence at the table. Li Hua sat glaring at him. Meanwhile, Su LingTian happily ate.

It seemed like he ate extra slow as well, if she didn't know any better he was doing it on purpose!

This was how kindness was repaid? It was only common decency to care about others health, maybe she should've been inconsiderate and let him starve.

Finally, after what seemed like forever he finished. Seeing this Li Hua stood up from her seat and was about to give her goodbyes when he suddenly spoke up.

"Thank you."

"For what? I was only being considerate! Any one else would've done it." She explained.

"Either way thank you." He smiled.

Hearing that she turned around and walked away. Why was her face so hot?

Su LingTian stood up and made his way back to the study. Looking at all the work he decided it was time to call it a night.

He thought back to dinner. She seemed to be a little more nice to him. Of course as nice as a stubborn person can be. He was in a particularly good mood.

As he walked back to his bedroom he heard a voice call out.

"You're welcome." Followed by a door shutting.

~~~
The next morning, Li Hua's face was stone cold.
When she had come down for breakfast she hadn't expected Su LingTian to be there.
"Good morning." He said while drinking some coffee.
She had every means to turn right around and leave however she was very hungry. Looking at the food the cooks made, it was too good to pass up.
Putting aside her feelings she sat down and began to eat.
Su LingTian didn't say anything else to her and they ate in silence.
This would continue for days. Every meal he was there with a smile on his face. It honestly creeped her out.
At dinner one day, his smile fell and he broke the silence.
"Works been getting hectic recently so I'll have to work longer days. Is that ok"
It worked out for her as she would be returning to work the next day anyways.
"Why wouldn't it be."
Once again the silence returned and dinner was quickly over.
When she awoke the next day, she realized that he wasn't at home. Walking downstairs she was greeted by one of the help. She was a girl, couldn't have been more then a 3 years older then her.
Seeing Li Hua, the girls eyes lit up.
"Ah Ms. Li you're awake. Mr. Su asked us to prepare you food before he left!"
The girl grabbed her hands and led her to the dining room table. On it was an assortment of foods.
The girl stood to the side and continued to talk.
"~Oh how dreamy! How nice would it be to have a man be so considerate~" she swooned.
Hearing her words Li Hua felt a smile slowly appear on her face.
"Lucky?" She thought to herself. Well maybe she was a little lucky...
As she started to eat, she couldn't help but notice the food seemed to taste better. What did they put in there?
After she finished eating she turned to look at the maid, who was still talking to herself.
"What's your name?"
"Oh my name is Bi Yue!"
"Well Bi Yue, would you mind helping me prepare for work?" She smiled.
"Of course!"
