Chapter 10 - Not invited

Before night fall Arthur forced me to go to sleep in his bed before going off to his ball or whatever. He was dressed up from head to toe in a suit and his dirty blonde hair was slicked back. I mean I did dress him and did his hair so I think I can call him cute.

I lay down on the bed snuggled up in the bed sheets letting the hours past. One after another I wait as the sun goes down before I start getting bored. I didn't sleep because I couldnt. Gordon was at this party and almost everybody in this lousy town was invited but me.

"This is some bull"

I yell punching and kicking the cover before roughly getting up and stomping off to Gordon's house. In the middle of my rage, I get stopped by Leo in the halls. "Hey Max what's up," a smile grew on his face making me smile. "Oh hey I was just going to my room," he lifts a brow before leaning up against a wall. "Why aren't you at the party. Arthur is picking a noble girlfriend so i thought you would be the first one by his side."

i roll my eyes and glare. That's why he told me i couldnt go. He probably didnt want me looking at his girl. Or maybe he didnt want me to know he was getting a girlfriend.

"Max, are you ok," he asks as I get caught up in my head. I start walking off with my head down going through all my thoughts as he watches me stumble off.

I end up walking back to Arthur's room later on and see him enter inside opening the door. I wait a while to see how he would act if I wasn't inside and it surprised me. I could hear him hit the bed with his fist and mumble "Do I have to go to Gordon's house to get the guy," he said making me laugh. I walk up to his door as it swings back open and Arthur stares down at me before pulling me inside by my hand. "Where were you," he growled sending chills down my back. "If the king of Hepaton seen you we would have been done for," I tilt my head in confusion. "He doesnt like new people and since he met my staff before he was hoping for my old servant," he relaxes before continuing. " I'm glad he didnt see you or the wedding would have been cut off."

Wedding?

He was still leaning over me breathing heavily as I was stuck against the door. "Are you ok Arthur," he didnt respond instead he stared into my eyes then down to my lips and I couldnt help but lick them. "Arthur-" i froze as he brushed his lips against my cheek before trailing down to my neck making me freeze up.

He kept going as my neck relaxed and tilted over to the side as he pressed further breathing harder than before. My eyes closed as he slips his hand under my shirt holding onto my waist as his body pressed up against me pinning me to the door.

I open my eyes and see him leaning in to plant a kiss with no hesitation grabbing my face before smashing our lips together. From my face to the back of my head he pushes our lips closer together as he slides his tongue inside my mouth as I struggle to breathe. With my hands I hold onto his back pulling his body on me as I held on feeling his leg pressed in between my legs and I let out a soft moan.

Did I really just?

I push him back and a look of confusion wipes over his face. There was no way I was kissing an almost married guy.

"I think we should sleep I have a lot to do tomorrow," I smile tapping his shoulder before walking over to the bed to lay down. He said nothing after that everything was quiet too quiet even and I still couldn't sleep.

Really he kissed me right after I find out that bullshit, oh come on! I mean I am a servant and I could use a sneaky link but do I really have time for this mess of a day.

I mean his lips were nice and soft and when he- Max are you crazy he is getting married there is no way I stand a chance when she's a literal princess. You know what I need- to sleep. Yes, sleep can fix this- I know it can.

Morning comes and I stood by the window dozing off as Arthur slept soundly under the covers.

Maybe I should leave before he wakes. Would have been a good plan if he didn't wake up as soon as I tried to walk out.

"Morning Max," he stands up reaching for me just to pull me into a hug. Hopefully, he didn't notice my black bags under my eyes while I hugged him back trying to get some rest on his shoulder.

"Are you okay," he pushes me up and I open my eyes to smile.

"Fine, yeah, me? I'm fine, yup, that's me," he lifts his eyebrow but I run out of the room before any more questions could escape his mouth.

I just know he had to have followed me though. He had very silent steps but his glare could be felt on the back of my neck from miles away but somehow I reach the doorknob.

"And where are you going?" I slowly turn my head and grin to the point that my eyes close before swinging the door open and running away like a mad man. I needed to get away. Back to my room where Gordan would yell at me for being an idiot and staying out all night. I needed that. That familiar feeling.

"Hey Max get back here," I continue to run as I here his highness yelling but I knew he wouldn't follow me as he had his bed attire on and he would never go out in that. But as soon as he thew on his clothes the first thing he would do is go after my neck.

I mean I am special

I rush up to the door of Gordon's house and open the door and Gordon was sitting at the table reading a very thick book. Had to be over 2 thousand pages.

"Hey how was your night," he laughs as I notice my clothes falling off my shoulders and the fact that my hair was probably everywhere by now but I had no intention of staying for long because Arthur is probably right behind me.

"It was great," I roll my eyes making him laugh more before breaking into a run to my room. I needed a new outfit the one I had on smelt too much like my problems. My mind rushes back to last night and my hand smacks the lights back on in my brain.

"I need to get out of here."
