I was inside my secret office located near my manor. Here, I was writing a new story to publish about a handsome man who falls in love with a reincarnated woman, but that woman ends up rejecting his love as she ends up being the ruler, "No wait. My readers would totally hate the ending," I mumbled to myself, "but these people need to understand how to be independent! Men are shit anyways!"
While thinking of how to write my story, my sweat dripped on the paper as it spread through the ink. At times like these, a fan or an AC would sound so nice, but what can I expect from this era? All these people know how to do is magic.
Magic?
"AH! That's it!" I stood up and cast ice all over the floor, so it would be much cooler.
Then that's when an idea hit me.
I ran to the main hall of my building where the head butler was ordering the servants, "Gideon!" I called out to him, "Yes, Lady Rose?" he bow to me along with the other servants.
This is a manor that I bought with my own funds, without my parent's knowledge. I personally hired servants from the streets who were suffering of hunger because these kind of people are usually the ones I can trust the most, so I took them in and made them live here comfortably. As long as I'm not around, they can use the house as they please and eat food to their liking.
Besides, I don't often come to my office, so the head butler manages the things around here.
"I want you to find me a land. Can you do that?" I ask Gideon as he bow once again, "Yes, my lady."
Soon after, I traveled to the most expensive and well-known shoe maker in town. Since many nobles seek for him, he was quite an expensive man. One shoe is almost the same amount as one building, "Miss, are you lost?" a young man wearing glasses spoke to me.
"Ten of these within a month," I showed him a lay out of the skate shoes. When he saw the blades, he was taken aback and looked at me with unease, "May I ask what this shoe is for? As a reminder, with this many shoes and unique design, it will cost you a lot."
"One month. If you can finish this within a month then I will double my payment," I smirked at him as his dark expression suddenly turned brighter, "It's a pleasure to work with you."
"Perfect. When you're done, I'll grant you a free entrance to my business," I tell him before leaving his shop.
However, only unpleasant people came into my line of sight. Why are we always running into each other?
"Vanilla! It's nice to see you shopping here as well. Would you like to come with us to eat?" she questioned me as Prince John frowned, as if he was telling me to not bother them.
"My, how kind of you. Of course," I smirked at the prince while adjusting my glasses. Though, before we could take another step, someone wrapped their arms around my shoulder, "Lady Margaret, I will be borrowing Lady Jeannie for today," Kian says.
I mentally wanted to slap him for giving me a heart attack, but I would lose face in front of Lady Margaret...
"Meow~" Asborn rubs its head against my dress for the first time as I carried him onto my arms. Since Margaret and the prince was around, he was unable to turn into a human.
"I-is that so..? Uhm, if you don't mind, would you like to come eat with us as well, Sir Kian?" Margaret shyly looks down on her fingers, "I apologize Lady, but I only want to be with my cute little Jeannie. See you," Kian responded.
I.... I am utterly speechless. Accoding to the book, Kian was madly in love with the heroine to the point where he's extremely careful about his words. In fact, he would only say sweet and loving things to her. So, what the fuck?
"Hey, move your arms. Why did you do that?" I question this mysterious, yet handsome man next to me. I really can't understand what he's thinking at all.
"Don't be so mean. Let's go on a date," he grabs my hand but Asborn transforms into a human and slapped his hands away, "Don't touch my lady so casually."
"Ah, since you're here. Do you know how to cast an ice magic that can last forever?" I ask him as he smirked, closing the distance between us. Naturally, Asborn got in the way.
Jeez, he's so overprotective.
"I do. Why? Are you going to ask me for a favor?"
"Yes I am. I'm thinking of making a new business and I need your magic for it. I already bought a land, so I just need you to cast a floor of ice that doesn't melt," I explained while he pushed Asborn out of the way and placed his arm around my shoulder.
"Sure, but nothing is free."
"What do you want?"
"Hmm, I don't know. Just be on standby for my request, but no matter what it is, you can't refuse, okay?" he ask as I remained silent.
Is it just me or does he sound suspicious? But I suppose he's the only one I can trust with my business, so it's better than nothing.
"I understand. I'll let you know when you need to cast the ice," I tell him before we continued roaming around the city together, along with Asborn who seemed to despise Kian.
