Chapter 8 - The man with the hands

*Don't forget about your soul.... C-

"Hey, it's time to get up now" Frisk demanded.

Nate and Joseph sat up rubbing their eyes.

"Did you guys sleep well or something?" Frisk asked.

"I already forgot what I dreamed about last night" Nate replied, rubbing his eyes.

"I just dreamt about eating the tastiest food in the village!" Joseph added while smacking his lips.

"Hey, is he okay?" Frisk whispered. She pointed at Jason who was staring out the window. "He looks depressed" She added.

"He's different from others," Nate replied, putting his glasses on his face. "He's been curious about his soul recently, as it awakened not too long ago" Nate explained.

"So you're telling me he wasn't born with his soul trait?" Frisk asked.

"No, he used to not have a trait just like Joseph" Nate replied. Joseph walked over to Jason trying to comfort him. "The thing is, nobody knows his soul trait" Nate explained.

"Well good thing we're going to go see my friend today, he's a genius!" Frisk said out loud. Nate could tell she said that out loud so that it could cheer Jason up, but all he did was turn and put on his red and black Adidas sweater.

"Welp everyone get ready we're about to leave" Frisk demanded.

"What about breakfast?" Joseph asked.

"We'll grab it when we walk through the village" Frisk replied.

"Let's just go already..." Jason said faintly. The boys and Frisk all finished getting ready and walked out the door of the old broken down house. They started walking down the dirt tracks of the broken gravel road back towards the way of the village. They all walked in silence, not even trying to breathe loudly. The only sound you could hear out of the 4 is the rumbling of Joseph's stomach. "Are you really that hungry?" Jason asked putting his hands on his face.

"Hey, don't judge I haven't eaten since we left to go to the park yesterday!" Joseph shouted while holding his stomach. The boys and Frisk had reached the village by this time walking through the streets filled with children playing and adults roaming to get to their destinations. Frisk walked up to a streetfood parlor to pick the boys up some breakfast. she came back with some food that look like colorful balls on a stick.

"What're those?" Joseph asked.

"This is Dango" Frisk replied. "It's like dumplings on a stick but yummier" She explained. She handed one stick of Dango to each of the boys.

"Are you sure this is edible? They look like clay balls." Joseph claimed while inspecting the Dango. Nate had already eaten one ball off the stick.

"Hey! this is pretty good!" He yelled his mouth stuffed with Dango. Joseph looked down at his Dango, his mouth drooling.

"I hope you're not lying!" He yelled as he too, stuffed his face with Dango. This made Frisk chuckle as she ate her's too.

"Can we get some more?" Joseph yelled. Jason slowly took a bite of his Dango, chewing it without a response. While chewing he began to eat the rest of his Dango.

"Yea, it's pretty good!" He replied. Frisk smiled taking each of the Dango sticks from the boys.

"I'll go buy one more batch then we should get moving" She said. Everyone smiled as they filled their bellies with the second batch of Dango and began to walk again.

"We'll be there soon, just a little more down this road" Frisk said. She led them down the road past a few buildings, then turned them down an allyway behind the village. "We're here!" she yelled.

"Don't you think this is a bit shady?" Nate asked.

"Once you get to know him he's a pretty nice." She replied. She began knocking on the door, and who opened the door shocked the boys...
