Chapter 7 - New Home

As Frisk and the boys reached their destination the sun had already set, leaving the night sky to surround the air.

"This is where we're gonna stay?" Jason asked.

"We'll stay here for the night then I'll bring you guys home in the morning" Frisk replied.

"About that..." Jason added. The boys met eyes with an old worn down house with broken windows and cracked wood. The place looked like something you'd see in a horror movie.

"We don't live with our parents, in fact, our parents are gone..." Nate mentioned.

"We live in an orphanage, but they don't care about us, what we do or where we go" Jason added.

"Well, then you wanna stay with me instead?" Frisk asked. The boys nodded their heads with a happy expression on their faces. Frisk frowned as she knew it was gonna be more mouths to feed.

"So, why do you live here?" Joseph asked.

"For the past year, the S.O.U.L council has been tracking me trying to recruit me. When I turned them downed they tried to take my soul as they knew it was very powerful" Frisk explained.

"What were you boys doing at the park in the middle of a war?" Frisk asked.

"As I said, the orphanage doesn't care where we go. So we spend most of our day roaming around or something." Jason explained.

"Most kids in the orphanage don't have souls but we do" Nate added.

"Except for me, I don't have one" Joseph blurted.

"You kids have souls?" Frisk asked. "Let me see them" She demanded. The kids nodded

"We don't really know what they do but if I had to take a guess, I have some type of soul that makes me think differently from other people" Nate replied,

"And I still can't make a good assumption on Jason's soul yet, but we both know it's there". Nate said while pushing up his glasses.

Frisk stares at Nate surprised that he was able to put that together.

"I can take you to someone who might be able to tell you what your souls are, but you should get some rest first... I'll take you there tomorrow". Frisk said with a slight smile.

"Wait, before we go to bed what were those things you fought earlier," Jason asked.

"Oh, those were what we call "Final Froggits," Frisk said.

Frisk slowly dozed off to sleep while the boys had planned to stay up for a little longer.

"What about me?" Joseph asked.

"What do you mean 'What about me?" Jason asked.

"I-I don't have a soul.." Joseph mumbled.

"Don't worry Joseph, you'll be fine. Your big brother and I are just enough to protect you" Nate assured. This made Joseph smiled as he too, dozed off to sleep.

"Guess that leaves the 2 of us" Nate chuckled.

"Yea, are you second-guessing staying with Frisk now?" Jason asked.

"Well... Yes and no," Nate replied.

"Why?" Jason asked.

"I just had this thought, what if she only wants us to awaken our souls just to help out in the war?" Nate explained. Jason didn't reply, he just sat there staring at Nate, his face looking like he just went into deep thought.

"W-Well you never know..." Jason whispered.

"I guess we'll just have to wait and see, what our future has for us in store..." Nate replied.

"Well I'm going to sleep, goodnight," Jason said.

"Goodnight..." Nate quickly whispered as he dozed off to sleep.
