Chapter 9 - Legends of the Forgotten: Part One

The boys and Frisk waited for the door to be opened, and for them to be greeted. Frisk looked at the boys as they chatted about their location. They heard the door clicking as it was about to open.

"Here he comes," Frisk said as she smiled a bit. The door slid open as a large skeleton man with huge scars on his eyes and holes in his hands. The man didn't look enthusiastic at all. He was wearing black robes that were torn a bit at the edges.

"Frisk? What're you doing here? Who are they?" The skeleton man asked.

"Long time no see, Gaster" Frisk replied. The skeleton man. named Gaster, didn't look happy at all. "These kids here are my... uh... acquaintances," She said.

"Is that a monster?" Jason asked.

"No it's a living skeleton that somehow is magically alive" Nate replied rolling his eyes.

"I didn't ask for your sarcasm," Jason said crossing his arms. Gaster seemed annoyed at how the boys were acting.

"So why are you here? No one's supposed to know I'm here remember?" Gaster asked.

"I know, I know. But I need your help with something." She replied. Gaster frowned, turned around, and began to walk away. "Great. Let's go boys" Frisk said. The boys walked behind Frisk slowly as they looked around at all the tech, blueprints, and scraps laying around.

"Hey Frisk" Jason whispered. Frisk looked over her shoulder back at Jason. "I thought we were in the middle of a war against monsters?" he asked.

"We are, but Gaster is different, he isn't filled with rage and hatred like the other monsters." She explained. "Gaster didn't really affiliate with the rest of the monsters down in the Underground, so he came up to the surface and that's where we met," she added. Jason nodded in understanding as they continued to follow Gaster towards the back of his lab. In the back, it looked like a nice kitchen with a room beside it with a table and a bed in it, on the other side of the room was another door, which Gaster led everyone into. Beyond the door was a huge library with a couch and a table in the middle.

"Everyone sit on the couch," Gaster said. He pulled out a chair from the table and sat with his arms crossed. "What is it that I could help you with Frisk?" Gaster asked. Frisk put her hand on both Jason and Nate's heads.

"Can you help me figure out what these 2 boys' souls are?" She asked.

"Ah, so it's a research subject" Gaster replied. The boys showed their physical manifestations of their souls, Jason's a blood-orange colored heart while Nate's is an emerald green color. "I've never seen any souls with these colors, they must be new" Gaster said as he sat up in his chair.

"So do you know?" Nate asked.

"I might have some books on it" Gaster replied. Joseph started to doze off from boredom and laid on Frisk's arm. Gaster had gotten up to browse for books throughout his library. He pulled out a book named Soul Encyclopedia and flipped through the pages. He then got up and pulled out a couple more Soul Encyclopedia books. "No these aren't it" Gaster mumbled to himself. He then got up to search for another book and pulled out a book called The Legends of the Forgotten. He then flipped through the pages and stopped on a page that showed a drawing of the soul that looked just like Nate's. "I've found one!" Gaster yelled. He began to read aloud: The Legend of Kieron Intellectlect

In the small town of Mouseham there lived a noble, a wizard named Kieron Arevalo. Not a high-ranked kind, mysterious house, filled with books and magical spells, yet a helpful, grand, quiet house.

One day, after a troubling visit from the high-ranked Wizard Annabelle Grey, Kieron leaves his house and sets out in search of three legendary enchantments. A quest was undertaken in the company of B.E.S.T, Wizards, Warriors, and Scientists.

In the search for the Amalgamate-guarded enchantments, Kieron Arevalo surprises even himself with his skill as a Wizard.

During his travels, Kieron retrieves the First Enchantment the Soul of Intelligence, an heirloom Annabelle tried to claim for herself. But when the soul rejects Annabelle, she abandons her role as a high ranked Wizard, the soul trusted Kieron more.

During the Battle of The Great Magic War, the two reconcile just before Kieron engages in some serious fighting.

Kieron accepts one of the three legendary enchantments and had died during the battle, Leaving the Soul of Intelligence never to be seen again.

No one knows the ability of the Soul of Intelligence but it is one of the Three Enchantments, proving a worthy soul trait.

Gaster looked up at Frisk, Jason, and Nate as Nate seemed to be amazed that his soul proved to be legendary and powerful.

"What about mine?" Jason asked.

"I'll check through the other pages" Gaster replied. He flipped through the rest of the book in search of Jason's soul, but the book had reached its last page with no trace of the soul trait. "Hm, maybe it's in another book" Gaster suggested as he got up to look for another book. Gaster had continued his search from there until the sun had set and everyone had fallen asleep, he began to give up, until...
