"Yo guys let's go!" Gabriel screamed. He walked over to Joseph and grabbed him by the hand yanking him forward.
"Hey! That kinda hurt..." Joseph yelled as he snatched his hand back.
"Be careful with him" Nate yelled.
"Well maybe if you guys didn't get distracted we wouldn't be in this situation" Gaster scoffed. They began to walk in silence following the trail that led further and further from the Forest and the City-District itself. The path quickly changes from dirt to gravel then to grass, The boys looked around to find themselves surrounded by a huge field of tall grass.
"Where...are...we...?" Nate asked.
"Just keep walking and don't worry about it" Gaster mentioned as he looked down at his map. They walked through the grass as it grew taller and taller the deeper they went.
"Now that I think about it... You guys never told me the purpose of this adventure..." Gabriel mentioned.
"It was my idea... I've been researching on my ability, and I found out that the soul of INTELLIGENCE is able to copy other people's skills. It also mentioned that I could archive three abilities..." Nate explained.
"Archive?" Joseph asked.
"Archive is only the term we'll use for it, It's a passive skill that we've researched that allows him to store 3 abilities from other people, once he has it he can't change it" Gaster finished explaining.
"Ohhh that makes sense... So then... where are we going?" Gabriel asked.
"To the tomb of a slain hero!" Nate yelled.
"uhhhh, what?" Gabriel said confused.
"We're heading to the tomb of Xarius Oriestes, so Nate here could Archive his eye ability" Gaster groaned.
"Sorry, I thought the name would be cool" Nate laughed.
"Don't worry Nate, I thought it was cool!" Joseph cheered. Gaster stopped and turned around to face the boys, the expression on his face was serious.
"Listen closely, beyond this point is where the grass grows thicker, making the air thinner," He said.
"What does that mean?" Joseph asked.
"You're gonna have to shorten your breath if you wanna get through" Gaster explained. The boys nodded as if they knew they were prepared to pass, They have enough self-confidence to believe they could pass with no problem.
"We're ready," Gabriel said. Gaster nodded then proceeded to lead them through the grass while having to move each strand out of the way. As soon as they stepped through the first strand they could feel the air quality differentiate as it was like they couldn't breathe as much as they could. Joseph had tried to breathe like it was normal but ended up holding his breath because he couldn't. They all struggled to get through the strands as they desperately tried to breath in a way they wouldn't lose air.
"Ga...ster.... This..... is..... ha.....rd..." Gabriel struggled to talk.
"I.....told...you....." Gaster said slowly. "Just...breathe....in....slowly....through....your....nose, and...slowly.....out.....your...mouth" He explained. At that moment Joseph had passed out and fell to the floor.
"Joseph!" Nate yelled. He ran back to pick Joseph up and carry him on his back.
"Come....on.....we're....almost.....there...." Gaser said. He summoned two hands, one to move the last strand while the other scoops the boys and pushes them out. Gabriel had gotten up first to look around the place. A small stone doorway surrounded by an area where the grass doesn't grow.
"This is the tomb...?" He asked.
"Yeah, this is the place" Nate replied.
"It's smaller than I expected..." Gabriel whispered to himself.
