The waves surged, layer upon layer.
Lu Li sat on the small boat, gazing at the distant dark clouds.
The unknown and vast deep sea was far more treacherous than the surface.
Lu Li knew many secrets of the land above. The rebirth of the Ancients, the remnants of the Old Ones, the truth of the Lennon Islands, the arrival of the Tillage Garden.
But as for the deep sea, Lu Li knew almost nothing, even the Land of Light only covered the bay outside Rodest Port and the limited coastal waters along the Ailen Peninsula.
Withdrawing his gaze from the storm ravaging the distant sea, Lu Li grabbed the oar and, along the horizon of the Ailen Peninsula, bypassed the dangerous storm cluster and continued sailing.
A recent snowfall had covered the distant land in gray and white, clearly delineating the boundary with the sea. But as night approached, the sky darkened, and both land and sea disappeared into the dimness and mist.
