Siegfried sometimes wished that people's thoughts could be as easy to understand.

The weather was nice today. Siegfried fetched spring water and led out four horses and two donkeys to drink.

Once the horses and donkeys had had their fill, Siegfried took them to the pasture to eat fresh grass.

He then returned to the stable, where Marvey's figure was no longer visible on the haystacks.

Siegfried was not surprised. He rolled up his sleeves, shoveled manure, fetched water, and changed the bedding in the stables.

After finishing all this, the sun had just risen above the treetops. Siegfried cleaned himself a bit, returned to his bed made of haystacks, intending to take a nap.

Just after he had closed his eyes for a moment, Siegfried heard footsteps outside the stable.

Instinctively, he grabbed his sword beside him and quickly rolled over to get up. Before he could ask, an exaggerated hat appeared in his line of sight.
