Fidelia was still reeling from what Alex had said. She simply couldn't reconcile it, this was the girl who considered marriage the most ridiculous institution ever devised, invented solely to wound people, who flatly refused to believe a man could love a woman for a lifetime. That such a person was now talking about binding herself to one man forever left Fidelia genuinely stunned, half-convinced she'd misheard.
"So did you say yes?" Fidelia finally asked, unable to contain her curiosity about both the answer and the reasoning behind it.
