He could feel his legs giving away. His body became heavier. He could barely see anything. The tears in his eyes had muddled everything. All he could see were pale colours of red, blue and green mixing to a void as he rushed into corners. He couldn't see where he was going but he lunged his body forward determined to keep his promise.
A few hours ago....
There was a loud bang. Jonathan slowly lifted his hands from the bedside. He lifted it into the air to see light shining upon his five beautifully articulated fingers. He was delighted. He could move again!!
And the first thought that came to him was to shout out loud to his MAMA
But his eyes froze as he turned to see.....
THE REASON OF THE LOUD BANG.
His Mama. She was down...on the floor... blood every....where....
There were beings gnawing into her. Jonathan could feel the tears flow down as his precious mama was devoured by gruesome looking creatures. He could hear the sound of them munching on her. But even through the shrills around he could here his mama's faint voice crying. " Run..." But all Jonathan could do was turn his head sideways denying to leave his mama alone. Once again his mama whispered "Run....." her voice was breaking. She was in pain. And Jonathan felt worthless knowing he could do nothing to ease the pain of his most prized treasure. His Mama. He could see her writhing in pain. But all he could do was stand there helpless. He slowly saw her moving away from his sight as he saw more creatures crowding and that's when it dawned to him that his mother had sacrificed herself to save him. And for the last time before he ran away, never to see his mother again, he heard her say "Live...for...me..."
