The sky above Magnolia was a soft blue, scattered with strands of white clouds drifting lazily. Lucky adjusted the saddle straps on his Golden Eagle as Cana approached, her usual confident swagger tinged with something more animated. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"We're really flying there?" Cana asked, practically bouncing on her heels.
"Yeah. Saves time," Lucky replied, chuckling.
She hopped up and settled behind him, but her eagerness almost got the best of her. As the eagle lifted off, she let out a surprised yelp and grabbed onto Lucky's cloak, nearly tumbling off.
"Careful," he laughed. "You're gonna fall before the quest even starts."
"Shut up," she muttered, red faced. But her awe was clear as she looked down at the rapidly shrinking landscape. "Still... this is incredible. You really have powerful magic."
Lucky heard the edge in her tone. There was admiration, sure, but also... stress. Envy, maybe. He glanced back at her, noting how tightly she clutched the back of the eagle.
He didn't say anything. Not yet.

They landed near a small village surrounded by eaten crops and scorched fields. A thin haze of dust lingered in the air. The villagers greeted them weakly. Most were gaunt, tired, eyes hollow with hunger.
"You're the mages from Fairy Tail?" the village head, a wiry man with sunken cheeks, asked.
Lucky nodded. "We're here for the monster problem."
"Magic rats," the man said grimly. "They eat everything. Crops, storage... even wood. They've ruined everything."
Lucky exchanged a glance with Cana. Now he understood why this B-rank job didn't offer high pay. The village simply couldn't afford it.
————————————————————————
In the fields and nearby forest, they found the problem. Rats the size of cats, hundreds of them, weaving through tunnels and burrows. Magic sparked off their fur and teeth.
"Stay close," Lucky said, raising his hand. "Solid Script: FIRE."
A blazing word flew forward, scorching several rats as they scattered but not killing any.
which Makes Lucky understand how Weak solid Script magic with out using lucky Hit.
Lucky know wants to half a Clone to slef destruct to see the effect but unfortuantly he didn't but it was fortune actually after all Makarov didn't want to write another letter for apology again to teh council
Cana pulled a card and shouted, "Binding Vines!" Green energy shot out, grabbing a few of the rodents.
The swarm retaliated. From all sides, the rats surged.
One made it past the perimeter and lunged at Cana.
Lucky saw it. "Iron Golem!" he shouted.
A massive metal guardian emerged mid air, blocking the rat and slamming it aside.
"You okay?" Lucky called.
Cana forced a grin. "Fine!"
But Lucky could see the flicker of doubt in her eyes.
then he summoned some of his monsters that weren't absorbed dry by him
————————————————————————
After a grueling battle and tracking the nest, they eradicated the threat. Lucky used Solid Script: WIND to collapse the burrows. Fire, Iron, and even WATER based words were etched in rapid succession.
The last of the rats burned, and Lucky handed Cana a small stamina potion.
"You good?"
She took it, sat on a rock, and sighed. Then, loud enough for him to hear clearly: "Am I weak?"
Lucky blinked, then laughed.
She stared at him. "What's so funny?"
"You're not weak," he said. "You just rely on cards with fixed effects. It's your magic control and deck that need work. Not you."
Cana looked at him, surprised. Then she smiled and said, "Thanks."
————————————————————————
They rushed to the second quest location. The client was a well dressed mayor from a distant town who had lost an heirloom.
"A blue gemstone," he explained. "A family piece. When one marries, it is passed on."
Lucky caught a subtle change in Cana's expression.
Using her Divination Magic, Cana tried to trace the location. Her attempt was fuzzy but guided them toward a nearby forest ruin.
Inside the ancient, vine choked ruins, they discovered the gemstone lodged in a high alcove. The floor below was clearly a trap field.
As they were searching for the item, Lucky casually asked, "So... why did you join Fairy Tail?"
Cana was silent.
She didn't answer.
Lucky noticed the shift and didn't press it. He just nodded and kept walking.
"Well... anyone with a brain can tell that's a trap zone," Lucky muttered.
He smirked and summoned his Golden Eagle. Flight magic was rare, and clearly, the trap maker hadn't accounted for it.
He retrieved the gem easily.
————————————————————————
Back at the mayor's home, they handed over the gemstone.
"Thank you," the mayor said, voice heavy with emotion. "This was meant for my wife. It... means more than gold."
He handed them a bag of Jewels. Cana and Lucky split the reward evenly.
As they left, Cana clenched her fists slightly.
Lucky noticed.
'People join Fairy Tail for different reasons', he thought. 'Some for home, some to find someone, and some for revenge. No matter which... they all seemed unlucky in life or lucky to join fairy tail.'
————————————————————————
While flying home, Cana broke the silence.
"Hey, Lucky?... Why do you want to become stronger?"
The question caught him off guard.
He thought about it. Then answered honestly.
"I just want to live."
Cana was stunned.
"Not for revenge? Not to protect people?"
He shook his head. "No. I just want to survive all the chaos. That's enough for me."
He looked back at her. "What about you?"
She hesitated.
"Come on. I answered. It'd be cheating if you didn't."
She smirked. Then, staring at the forest below, she muttered, "To meet someone."
Lucky raised an eyebrow. "A lover?"
Cana laughed.
"Ok let me guess.... hmm.. Family," Lucky said next.
She froze.
"Brother?"
No response.
"Father?"
She nearly fell. Lucky reached back, steadying her.
She calmed down slowly, then nodded.
He didn't press further.
The sky above them turned orange as the sun dipped low, and the eagle soared steadily toward Magnolia.
Their flight was quiet, but not heavy. Understanding didn't need words.
Not now.
————————————————————————
Lucky then looked at her and asked, "Is he still alive?"
She nodded.
"Do you know what he looks like?" he asked again.
Another nod.
"Is he in the guild?"
Cana hesitated this time.
Lucky smiled gently. "That hesitation confirmed it."
He leaned closer and whispered, "Why not tell him?"
Cana looked away. "Because I feel unworthy. He's... he's so powerful. His reputation is immense. I'm nothing compared to that."
Lucky responded with a soft head chop. "You're not unworthy. You're still a kid."
Cana puffed her cheeks. "Why lecture me like you're older? We're about the same age!"
Lucky just smiled, saying nothing, and they flew in silence.
Just as they were nearing Magnolia, Lucky looked at her and asked, "So who is the father?"
She hesitated... then muttered, "The only S Class mage in Fairy Tail. Gildarts Clive."
When they landed and were about to separate, she suddenly turned to him.
"Don't tell anyone."
Lucky shook his head. "I'm not going to tell anyone." He paused, then added with a grin, "But you will."
She blinked, confused.
Lucky gave her a wink. "Everyone in Fairy Tail is an orphan... including me."
"I'm sorry," she said softly.
"Why do you want to be one too?" he asked, gently.
That made her break down. Tears welled up in her eyes.
Lucky quietly summoned a Spirit fox, letting it nuzzle her for comfort.
which she gave the Fox a hug while craying
"Tomorrow," he said gently, "you can ask Master Makarov for advice. See where it goes."
She nodded.
Just as he was about to offer her a ride home, she suddenly turned and ran.
Lucky chuckled and whispered, "well one regret sorted."
Then, turning toward the evening sky, he made his way back home.
