Chapter 17 - HA! I Win!

As Alex started the dash to the right wing from the middle stairs, he noticed he was faster than normal, it normally takes him 18 seconds to dash from stairs to stairs, but this time is only 7 seconds.

By the time Erica had time to react, Alex was already in front of the 2nd room and soon followed pursuit while practically screaming, "ALEX WAIT FOR ME!"

The other students just stand watch, some even cheering Alex and some for Erica as this was usual thing that would occur from time to time, some students even making bets on whether Erica would catch Alex or not.

Not one has noticed that Alex is faster than normal. Erica, as arrogant as ever, only thought he was gaining distance because he had a head start.

Soon Alex reach the the stairs, he has an idea he want to try. He made a sharp turn and jumped from the top of the stairs the the next level and jumped again to reach the 3rd floor.

Mind you that the steps of the stairs are 1 foot long, 6 foot wide, 5 inch tall, and a total of 8 steps.

So by doing the math, Alex jump 8 feet from a height of 1.3 meters, one would need a lot of momentum to do so. It's very hard to do in a 2 meter wide hallway, but not impossible for a normal person (A.N.: Someone confirm the math please)

By the time Erica reached the stairs, Alex was long gone and has already hid inside their club room and Erica just continued going downstairs because Alex is nowhere to be seen on the 3rd floor.

-Inside the Club Room-

"Hey Alex!" Elijah waved , "Why are you sweating so much?" he asked.

"Oh, I was running from Erica," Alex answered while wiping the sweat off his face.

"HA! I win!" Charlotte suddenly shouted and extended her hand towards the other girls, "Now pay up,"

"Ughh..." the others grunted as they each handed 5$ to Charlotte. Charlotte's eyes brighten seeing the cash, although it's small compared to their weekly allowance, it's still free money.

After the others payed Charlotte, Kristin's face got serious, "Ok, so let the weekend meeting begin."

As she said those words, the others took a seat leaving Kristin standing alone at the very front, "So, about Estela and her friends," she started, "what do we do about them?"

The other stared at her for quite sometime before Alex raised his hand.

Kristin nodded as she saw him raised has, and as soon as Alex got the signal, he stand up before saying, "Before everything else, I would like to say..."

Alex trailed off, it seems he doesn't want to finish what he was saying. Elijah was first to react, "What would you like to say? C'mon spill it," he said.

Alex took a deep breath, "Regardless if you guys are gonna go, I will return to Phantasia to learn what happened."

The others froze after hearing Alex, although they felt it was unfair that he's gonna go regardless and doesn't really gives them space to make a choice, they remembered what they were told last night, the start of the story of how Alex came to.

The seeing the others were speechless, Alex stated, "I know this seems like me pinning you to a single choice, but if you really don't wanna go, I can understand."

The others were still processing what Alex just said, and as always Elijah was first to answer Alex.

"Now it would seem unfair if we are left in this boring world while you are learning how to produce fire out of your hand and how to summon a storm," Elijah said, and then declared, "If Alex is going then so am I!"
