Chapter 40 - Oh...

Elijah is blitzing across the trees trying to find what the source of the light was, and while speeding through the trees he felt like he is passed through something and saw Alex trying to do something to a dead wolf.

"Alex?" Elijah sad in surprised, "Were you the source of that blue light?" He asked.

"Yeah, why?" Alex answered as he didn't look at Elijah and concentrated at the lifting the wolf.

"That laser beam almost hit me!" Elijah said angrily.

"Oh sorry about that, I guess I never considered that I'd hit anyone." Alex said as he finally lifted the wolf a few inches off the ground and the limbs are still on the ground hanging but at least the main body is afloat which is where most of the weight is, "Finally." He said in contemp.

"Now for my next target," Alex said as he started walking again.

"Hey how many did you catch now?!" Elijah shouted after Alex.

"This is the first one, I spent more time keeping the spell active than actually hunting, how about you?" Alex said as he stop on his tracks to look at Elijah.

Elijah smirked and said, "I caught 2 earth deers and 4 fire breathing rabits," he said as he thump on his chest.

"Good for you, well I'm on my way to catch more, see ya later!" Alex said as he continue walking and Elijah covered himself in lightning again and went back to hunting.

-Somewhere else in the forest-

Leslie is being carried by the trees on switching from branch to branch if the tree and bend anymore.

And 30 minutes of being carried by trees later she came upon a... Goat? The animal has goat like features but it's definitely not one. She ask the tree to move a little closer so she could have a better look at it.

Upon closer look she could see that it walking on all four legs and have goat horns, but one key defining feature is that its four glowing red eyes, two on each side of the head, its like a demon in a shape of a goat.

"Is this what they meant by evil can be anything?" she whispered to herself, but this little whisper was picked up by the goat and it looked towards Leslie and locked eyes with her, Leslie was frozen on the spot, the gaze of the goat seemed to paralyze her.

Her vision went black and all she could see were four red glowing eyes, she was terrified, she'd never seen anything like it, in her panic she swiped her arm horizontally and unconsciously ordered the tree to shoot leaves towards the goat.

In a matter of seconds the goat is being hit by razor sharp leaves from various parts, legs, face, torso, and the fatal shot was multiple on the stomach which made it die from blood loss a minute later.

After dying from blood loss, Leslie's vision snapped back to normal, she looked around warily and she saw the goat impaled by leaves. She had a clue of what happened but she wasn't sure so she asked the tree, "What just happen?"

The tree started vibrating and Leslie seems to understand it as she heard, 'You. Or. Dered. Us. To. Shoot. Leaves.' and then the trees stopped vibrating. "Oh..." She gasp and ordered the tree to bring her down to the ground.

She quickly ran to the goat creature and caressed the stomach, she felt bad about the goat, she didn't mean to kill it, she is one of the regular volunteers on the rescue center for injured animal so this isn't something new to her but the guilt is messing with her mind.

She tried to see if there's anything she could do but its too late, she's always been the weakest out of the bunch so having this much power is an alien feeling for her.

And as the thought of healing the goat came into mind, she remembered Alex talk about which class he should get on an RPG game he was playing. And one of them is the support class druids which can give buffs and revive recently dead teammates.

She is filled with doubt as this is the real thing, not some game, but it's worth a try. So she put her hands on the goat, and she kept thinking 'Please work, please work, please work!'

And soon enough, the surroundings began to glow a green hue that is slowly converging towards the goat, the green hue then began filling up the cuts and they slowly began to close up.

The healing is slow compared to how Joana treats the injured with deep cuts and wounds with magic, but its still relatively fast as one could see the wounds closing up in real time as 3 minutes later, all the wounds closed up.

And a few seconds later the goat woke up, it stared at Leslie, she then petted the goat, "You're alive!" She smiled as she petted the goat again and walked away, the goat is still in a daze because it was sure that it had died and then looked at the back of the human walking away.
