Chapter 383 - Chapter 383 - Battle: Daichi vs Orochimaru

After releasing the Tier 01 seal, the Gamer ninja felt immense chakra flood his body. The system showed him the boost in power he had obtained.

'So much power. It's as if I have a boundless amount of energy coursing through me.' Daichi looked at his body and felt the raw energy surge through every muscle and tendon in his arm.

The world seemed to slow around him, and the air thrummed with power. He remembered what Tsunade had said shortly before he completed his training under her.

'It's going to be difficult to control the excess chakra the first time. So you need to be careful. But once you get the feel of it, using that power after releasing the seal will become second nature to you.'

The Genin clenched his fist a couple times and moved his arms slightly. His brain quickly noted the power increase in the muscles and thanks to the high dexterity, Daichi was able to instantaneously adapt to the boost in strength.

'This is a bit beyond what I imagined.' He was a touch surprised by the magnitude of his own strength.

For a moment, the battlefield was eerily still. Jiraiya and Kakashi looked on from their vantage, both fully aware that something monumental was about to happen. Their hearts pounded in sync, even as they tried to maintain composure.

Orochimaru stood a short distance away and his expression showed an uncertainty. His yellow, reptilian eyes flickered with something akin to anxiety. An exceedingly rare look for the Snake Sannin. He saw the boy turn his head and look at him but before he could make any plans, Daichi disappeared.

Without warning, the Leaf Genin vanished from his spot, the space he once occupied warped with the aftershock of his movement. In that very instant, he reappeared directly in front of Orochimaru.

A gust of wind blasted outward from the force of Daichi's chakra, kicking up dust and debris that swirled around them in a violent cloud. Orochimaru's eyes widened in alarm and his muscles tensed on instinct, but he was too slow.

Daichi drove his fist clean into Orochimaru's face, and the impact resounded like a thunderclap splitting the sky.

A shockwave erupted from the impact.

The potent shockwave threw chunks of rock and spears of dirt into the air. The sheer force of the punch made the ground caved in beneath Orochimaru and Daichi's bodies, forming a large crater around them.

Daichi angled the force of his punch downwards and slammed the Snake Sannin into the ground face first.

BOOM!

As Daichi kept forcing more power into his punch, the Sannin was driven deeper into the ground. The massive force unleashed by the Genin broke the stones beneath the both of them further and expanded the crater with an explosion of rock and dust.

The ground all around them trembled as if an earthquake was happening.

"This is insane," Jiraiya exclaimed, his voice barely audible above the roar of destruction. He raised his arm to shield his face from the shards of flying rocks. Next to him, Kakashi had to steady himself as tremors rumbled through the earth.

Daichi stood over Orochimaru, fist still pressing down on the snake-like man's skull. There was a brutal finality to his posture, as if Daichi was certain Orochimaru could not counterattack.

'Daichi barely even flinched when he delivered that punch.' Kakashi noted, struggling to tamp down his own shock. 'He used brute strength, but there's also an extreme level of finesse controlling it all…'

The crater beneath the two battling ninjas deepened, cracks zig-zagging outward like some monstrous spiderweb.

With his free left hand, Daichi slowly clenched and unclenched his fingers, allowing the muscles to flex. His eyes scanned Orochimaru, who was still pinned to the ground, face contorted under the pressure of his fist. The earth continued to quake in protest of the force pressing downward.

But Daichi didn't stop there.

"That was for Shizune. This one…!" He spoke with a chilling tone and moved.

In a single fluid motion, he shifted his footing.

Daichi took a step forward and transferred the momentum into his left hand. Before Orochimaru could muster any sort of resistance, Daichi's left fist slammed forward into his chest.

With a second crushing blow, Daichi blasted Orochimaru outwards.

The sudden force hurled the Sannin through the packed earth, tearing up the ground in a brutal, linear trench.

Like a cannonball shot through a fortress wall, Orochimaru's body demolished every obstacle in its path. Massive boulders, old pillars of stone, anything that stood in the line of fire were blasted through.. His limbs twisted unnaturally from the sheer destruction his body had to endure.

He rocketed backward, blasting through the shattered ground in a straight line.

—-

Jiraiya and Kakashi stood frozen, unable to fully process what had just happened.

Kakashi's lone eye followed the line of destruction in stunned silence. 'That speed.' He exhaled sharply. 'Even my Sharingan could barely follow that speed. If that attack was aimed at me, I couldn't have even reacted to it.'

Jiraiya's mouth was slightly open, his hands still half-raised as if he had expected to intervene, only to realize he never even had the chance.

He turned towards Daichi, who still stood at the origin of the devastation with his body radiating unrestrained power. 'Just two punches? That was all it took?'

Jiraiya slowly let out a breath as he fully processed the last few seconds. "…Holy shit!" He involuntarily cursed aloud.

For a beat, no one spoke. Daichi's chest rose and fell with each quiet inhalation, his gaze unwavering from the distant spot where Orochimaru went. Jiraiya and Kakashi stared at the boy, stunned beyond words.

Kakashi's hands slowly lowered, his expression unreadable. "Even if we'd seen that coming… I don't think either of us could've blocked it."

Jiraiya exhaled, his voice quiet. "No. We couldn't have."

—-

Orochimaru barely had time to process what had just happened. His body, still in midair, rocketed through boulders, shattering them. He felt like he had been reduced to nothing but nerve endings and pain.

His mind reeled as his body finally came to a halt, crashing against a massive rock formation. His vision flickered, his golden eyes struggled to stay open, but everything was a blur.

The rumble of destruction spanned the entire battlefield, culminating in a cloud of gray-brown dust at the far end where Orochimaru's broken form came to a rest against a shattered rock. Crumbling stones and debris patterned to the ground around him.

The pain he was feeling was unimaginable.

Meanwhile Daichi remained where he stood, in the middle of the ruined earth and exuded an aura of pure destruction. Slowly, he straightened from his punching stance. "That… was for sensei."

The dust was still swirling around the crater from the massive attack while Daichi vanished again.

—-

At the far end of the trench, Orochimaru lay in a mangled heap against a massive boulder. Blood and sinew smeared the jagged rock where he had slammed into it.

His face or what remained of it was ghastly. The lower half had been turned into little more than pulp, a grisly mess of blood and tissue. One of his golden eyes was nothing but a destroyed socket, and the upper part of his torso was caved in, bones shattered.

His breath rasped through destroyed lungs. And each shallow breath brought a new wave of agony pulsing through his battered body. Worse, the limbs he had left were twisted and useless.

'I can't… believe… A single punch… My body…' Orochimaru's thoughts were jumbled, teetering on the edge of unconsciousness but pain kept him awake.

Orochimaru had fought many powerful shinobi in his lifetime. He had stood against Hanzo the Salamander. He had tested himself against the eight tailed Jinchūriki and faced off against the Akatsuki. But never once was he in such a miserable state.

'This child… He's not normal… To have such power…He's more dangerous than I ever imagined.'

At that moment the Snake Sannin finally understood. 'I can't win this.'

Despite his rage, it was a bitter realization, one that sent a surge of humiliation through his very core. 'I have to get out of here.'

The thought was humiliating, but undeniably true. If he continued, he'd be beaten to death. He needed Tsunade's cells, Tsunade's blood, but that would have to wait. 'I'll take her when she's alone or unconscious. But now… I need to escape.'

His original plan was still salvageable. He would get her blood another day, when she was weak. He forced his reeling mind to focus on an escape. With a tortured gurgle, Orochimaru's lips parted from what remained of his mouth.

His chakra swirled, dark and viscous, within him. Suddenly, his disfigured flesh opened unnaturally at the mouth, splitting wider. A sickly, wet sound filled the air, akin to a serpent shedding its skin.

From the ruined husk of his current form, a new, undamaged Orochimaru slithered out, his pale skin glistening with chakra-laced moisture. His old body collapsed into lifeless flesh, its purpose served.

Fresh air filled his lungs, and for a brief moment, he savored the sensation of being whole again. The newly emerged Orochimaru gasped, stooped low, taking a single precious second to relish having intact arms, unbroken ribs, and a working jaw.

He was still exhausted, though. 'I've used up too much chakra. I need to conserve what remains and disappear now.' Even if he hated the notion of running, survival was paramount. His body was still trembling slightly, and even though he had freed himself from the worst injuries, the toll on his energy was not negligible.

Anxious to escape before Daichi could close the distance, Orochimaru took a cautious step backward, intending to vanish into the scattered rocks and shadows.

He looked up, eyes flicking across the battlefield. Jiraiya and Kakashi were far enough that maybe, with a well-timed jutsu, he could slip underground and vanish. Tsunade's status was no longer worth the risk. 'I'll come back for her. She'll still be unconscious for a while.'

But before he could conjure enough chakra to vanish, a voice cut through the silent night.

"About time you regenerated."

A chill ran down Orochimaru's spine.

"I was getting bored waiting."

The Sannin spun around, only to see Daichi standing there with an unyielding stare. Orochimaru's heart sank. He hadn't even sensed Daichi's approach, which could only mean the boy's speed was on a level he had greatly underestimated.

'No…!'

Before he could so much as form a seal, before he could even shift his stance, Daichi was on him.

'Fast—!' Orochimaru's thoughts spiraled, panic jolting through him. He tried to raise a defensive seal or shift aside, but it was too late.

SMASH!

Daichi's right elbow drove down on Orochimaru's shoulder, forcing him onto one knee. The ground cracked under the Snake Sannin's legs, and a rush of wind exploded outward, blowing debris in all directions. Orochimaru gagged, teeth clenching from the impact. 'Impossible… so heavy…'

Without relenting, Daichi brought up his knee and slammed it into Orochimaru's abdomen, lifting him off the ground in a burst of dust and broken stone. Blood spattered from Orochimaru's lips as he flew back, only for Daichi to vanish and reappear behind him.

Another savage blow hammered Orochimaru straight down, sending him crashing into the rubble with a deafening crunch.

"Gha…!" Orochimaru's body convulsed. 'I can't keep up…'

"You should have run when you had the chance."

Suddenly a powerful kick sent the enemy ninja hurling into the air once more. The Snake Sannin let out a strangled gasp as the force of the impact sent his organs crushing against his ribs.

His body, which had just been healed, was already severely damaged again. The Sannin crashed into the ground and rolled several times before coming to a painful stop.

Gasping, Orochimaru's mind reeled. 'This can't continue. I'll be killed if I let him pin me down again.' He coughed, spitting blood onto the soil. A swirl of panic and frustration churned in his chest. 'He's barely even broken a sweat! How can he have so much power at his age? It's completely unnatural.'

Daichi slowly walked towards him. He looked at Orochimaru and the expression on his face showed that he was far from done. "Now you won't be able to escape even if you want to."

He disappeared and reappeared above the Snake Sannin in a fraction of a second. His right fist came next, arcing downward like a hammer.

Orochimaru was defenseless and his body slammed into the ground with an earth-shaking impact, the terrain beneath him collapsing into itself.

Far away, Jiraiya and Kakashi looked on, their eyes wide. They could do nothing but watch in stunned silence as Daichi pummeled Orochimaru into the earth. Neither of them could believe what they were witnessing.

Jiraiya's fists clenched tightly as he felt the sheer pressure of Daichi's chakra raging like an untamed storm. 'Is that really the same kid I met back in the Fire Capital?'

Each blow from Daichi carried enough force to shatter a giant boulder. The soil quaked under the onslaught, forming crater upon crater. Dust clouds billowed up, half-obscuring the violent spectacle.

Kakashi, too, was stunned. His lone red eye tried to follow the fight, but he was only barely able to track Daichi's movements. 'He's unstoppable right now. If he keeps going, Orochimaru won't even get a chance to regroup.' Kakashi realized and relief coursed through him.

The unstoppable foe who had threatened to kill them all was now the one cornered and helpless against the assault.

Jiraiya kept a serious gaze as he analyzed the battle he was watching. 'I see… Tsunade mainly used her seal to heal her body and use medical ninjutsu. But Daichi is using that excess power to boost his physical functions. His speed and strength overwhelmingly exceeds Orochimaru's… There's no question now. To have such a powerful advantage over him, Daichi has reached Kage level… Unbelievable…'

Like Jiraiya, Kakashi also noticed Daichi's advantage. 'It's just like Guy's Eight gates. His body is functioning far beyond the normal state. But there has to be a limit. No one can sustain such force indefinitely… right?' But even as he thought it, he felt a pang of doubt. Daichi didn't look like someone who was anywhere near exhaustion.

Kakashi swallowed, forcing himself to push past his disbelief. This was no longer just a fight. This was a complete demolition.

Orochimaru struggled, his mind racing through potential strategies. 'I have to escape—'

But before he could even lift himself from the crater—

BOOM!

Daichi's next strike sent him bouncing off the ground like a ragdoll, the impact splintering the earth around them.

'This is bad! If this keeps up… I'll die.' Orochimaru realized, his mind now screaming at him to retreat.

He barely had a moment to react before Daichi appeared behind him. "The last person who pissed me off, I cut off his arm. And I didn't like his guts to begin with." The Genin spoke in a low chilling tone.

He grabbed the back of Orochimaru's head with an iron grip and slammed his face into the ground.

The Snake Sannin's skull cracked against the rock. The sheer force sent a shockwave rippling outward.

The Sannin coughed violently, black blood spilling from his lips and his vision dizzy for several moments.

Daichi brought his hand up and spoke near his enemy's ear. "But even he couldn't compare to you."

The Genin slammed the head deep into the ground even harder and buried it inside the ground. Orochimaru's lower body jerked upwards in the air due to the sheer force of impact.

Daichi pulled his arm and jumped back several feet. 'I'm kinda glad he didn't run away. I really needed this… What a twisted feeling.' The Genin let out a deep breath of air and looked at man laying mangled in the ground. He had mixed feelings about the thoughts swirling in his head.

'He's on the verge of death and he doesn't have much chakra left. He only has one option now.' The Parallel processing and Hyper Cognition skills had helped Daichi anticipate every possible move Orochimaru was going to make and it increased his advantage in this fight.

The snake Sannin gathered his strength and slowly pulled his head out of the earth. He groaned and struggled to push himself up. His limbs were broken and his body trembled from the relentless assault it had to endure.

He turned on the ground and laid there facing up and looked at the boy. His golden eyes, filled with fury and panic, darted to Daichi's forehead, where the glowing green diamond still pulsed with raw chakra.

'The Yin Seal… So this is what it's like when it's used purely for offensive purposes… I can't believe it had such power…'

He closed his eyes briefly as a storm of hatred and desperation flashed within him. 'I have no choice but to use it.'

He looked at the Genin with malevolence. "Daichi," he snarled, voice low yet echoing eerily across the battlefield, "you've forced my hand."

Orochimaru's hand, which was bloody, made a special seal.

Author's Note:

I kinda based the first part of this fight off of Whitebeard vs Akainu in One piece. It was cool watching that old man pummel that admiral face first into the ground.
