Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: She’s Nothing but a Dead Person

In the brightly lit hall, all members of the Redgrave Family were gathered together.

They appeared flustered, unsure of what they might have done wrong.

"Has anything strange happened recently?" Jonathan Redgrave stood before everyone, loudly questioning.

"In response, sir, nothing unusual has happened recently."

Everyone seemed completely clueless, like monks in a fog.

"Has no one broken in?" Jonathan Redgrave closely scrutinized the group before him.

"Truly, we haven't noticed anything, sir. Has something happened?"

"Shut up!"

Failing to extract any useful information from them, Jonathan Redgrave's face was full of anger.

"All of you, get out! Useless bunch!"

Mia Redgrave, waking up, entered the hall. Lena Lynch was already scared out of her wits. She cautiously picked up a cup of water and took a sip.

"That room used to be where Seraphina Redgrave stayed; could it be her..."

"Mom! Are you out of your mind from fright?"

At the mention of Seraphina Redgrave, Mia seemed not worried in the least.

"It's been so long; even if she wasn't dead, she couldn't come back."

"You mean... but I can't help but feel this is her trick!" Lena Lynch furrowed her brow deeply.

"No, usually that dead dog would bark incessantly, but today nobody heard it at all! Something's not right, I'm afraid the house really has some sinister presence!"

Everyone then remembered the big wolfhound in the doghouse.

Seraphina Redgrave was already dead, and she came back for revenge.

"And what if it is her?" Jonathan Redgrave gritted his teeth fiercely. "A few years ago, she was just a useless fool, and now she's dead, do we still fear her? Want revenge? She hasn't got what it takes to take on us!"

In Jonathan Redgrave's memory, Seraphina was merely a groveling dog, pleading pitifully for attention. Besides crying and making trouble, she was useless.

Before, with just two shouts of anger at her, she would be so scared she couldn't eat or sleep. What was there to fear from such a coward?

"Dad's got a point, Mom, why do you always scare yourself like that?"

Mia Redgrave was now very calm, believing that Seraphina would never have the courage to set foot in the Redgrave Family again. Be it ghost or human, it mattered not to her.

Whether Seraphina was dead or alive, she could never contend with Mia Redgrave.

However, it was indeed annoying to come home to such a creepy scene every day.

"Dad, let's invite a master to perform a ritual tomorrow! Let Seraphina's soul be dispersed, never to reincarnate!"

Lena Lynch, hearing these words, was so frightened she put her hands together in prayer. "She's already like this, let's just let her go!"

"That's just the soft-heartedness of a woman! If Mona were as indecisive as you, you two would drive me to death with rage!"

Jonathan Redgrave could not fathom why he had married such a timid and fearful wife in the first place.

"I'll just go now and ask if anyone knows any accomplished monks."

Before he finished speaking, Jonathan Redgrave hurriedly left the Redgrave Family home.

Mia Redgrave sat upright in the room, eyes filled with immeasurable hatred.

Seraphina, you think you can still bully me?

Foolish dream!

Whether you're dead or alive, you'll forever be nothing but a shadow of me, Mia Redgrave!

...

Meanwhile, Seraphina Redgrave, who had been cursed a thousand times by the Redgrave Family, was leisurely feasting on the food street.

With vibrant decorations, the place was transformed into a wondrous "paradise on earth."

Mouth-watering aromas filled the air, surrounded by bustling crowds.

Seraphina stood before a food stall, staring at the grilled lamb, almost drooling.

She hadn't felt this bustling life vibe for so long; all she had on Veridian Isle was endless despair.

Freedom, this was the long-awaited freedom she craved.

After a long time, she finally managed to tear her gaze off the grilled lamb and silently stared at an iron box in her arms.

Inside the box was just an old campus card, utterly useless.

Years ago, the Redgrave Family cast her onto Veridian Isle, and to prevent future mishaps, they destroyed anything related to Seraphina, as if she never existed in this world.

Seraphina, who had nothing, felt completely helpless.

Not to mention a dead person, she didn't even have a personal identity now.
