Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Seize Your Own Happiness

Rebecca Quentin carried large and small bags from the mall as she walked into her villa. Aunt Clare, the Quentin family's housekeeper, greeted her anxiously, "Miss, why didn't you take a driver with you? Do you know how worried your father was when he found out you went out alone? He almost fired all of us..."

Rebecca felt quite embarrassed as she explained, "I just went out for coffee with a friend. It's just Dad being too nervous."

Sometimes, even Rebecca couldn't stand her father… Although he had his treasured daughter at the age of forty and showered her with love, her father's overprotection caused her to know too little about the world. No wonder when she sought help from Isabella today, Isabella was first astonished, then laughed until she could hardly breathe…

"Alright, alright, give me the bags. Your father is waiting for you in his study!" Aunt Clare said, trying to take the shopping bags from Rebecca's hands.

However, in that instant, Rebecca quickly hid the bags behind her. Her face turned red and she stuttered, "Uh, Aunt Clare, I'll take these to my room myself... I'm going upstairs first!"

With that, Rebecca ran toward the second floor.

As Aunt Clare wondered why Rebecca's face had turned red, her sharp eyes noticed the brands on Rebecca's shopping bags... Instantly, she smiled and went to report to Alexander on the second floor.

Once back in her room, Rebecca quickly stuffed the bags into her wardrobe. After making sure the blush on her face had faded, she took a deep breath and went to her father's study.

KNOCK, KNOCK.

"Daddy, it's me."

Alexander's kindly voice came from the study, "Becca, come in."

Alexander was leisurely sitting on the sofa smoking a cigar. Seeing Rebecca enter, he immediately put down his cigar and said affectionately, "Becca, come sit next to Daddy."

Rebecca nestled beside her father and cooed, "Daddy, can you please not worry so much about me in the future? I only went out for a while, and you scolded Aunt Clare and the others. I really feel like a canary locked in a cage by you..."

"Alright, alright... Daddy is just worried about you. From now on, whatever you say, I will agree."

Rebecca lovingly wrapped her arms around her father's neck, "I knew Daddy is the best..."

Alexander continued, "However, my Becca will no longer be under my control soon. You are getting married, and after that, you should listen to your husband..."

Rebecca instantly let go of Alexander and mumbled, "Daddy says he loves me, but he is marrying me off so soon... I don't understand anything, how am I supposed to know what to do as a wife..."

Alexander laughed heartily, "My precious daughter, after getting married, you don't have to do anything, just make sure you can keep your husband hooked... You are doing a great job preparing for it already!"

Rebecca looked puzzled, "What preparation did I do?"

Alexander countered, "Aren't those clothes and items you bought the preparations for tomorrow night?"

"Ah?" Gosh! Her father actually knew about the things Isabella bought for her…

Looking at his daughter's blushing cheeks, Alexander smiled warmly, "At first, Daddy was worried that you didn't understand these things and wanted to get Aunt Clare to teach you. Seems like it's not necessary... Becca, you must strive tomorrow night and make sure you grasp your own happiness!"
