Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

"The third one, huh?" Velten asked while rubbing his chin "I guess my expectations weren't wrong. There are definitely other people that have the same system as me"

As the warning window broke, the magic shield slowly disappeared, and Velten went to loot what the boss dropped.

Velten looked at the greatsword information for a while. He then said while trying to lift it "I don't think I'll be using this greatsword ever. It's really heavy, and I'm not the black swordsman to fight all the time with something this heavy"

"I guess I'll need to sell it later in the store, but let's put it in the inventory for now, and check this crystal" Velten tossed the greatsword in the inventory and looked into the crystal but nothing was showing.

[Notification: This item's information couldn't be shown due to the appraisal skill's low level]

"Hmm? This is weird…" Velten thought while rubbing his chin "I know my appraisal skill level is very low, but it worked on the greatsword…"

Velten threw the crystal in the inventory and said "Whatever, I'll just check it later when my skill reaches a good level"

"Are you ok, kid?" A man with a light beard, wearing white armor and holding a long sword approached Velten saying.

"Yeah, I'm ok" Velten replied "Did you check on the other students?"

"Yes, everyone is ok, but since the students might develop a trauma after this incident, this school is gonna close for a while so that the students can take a rest"

"That's the best thing to do…" Velten said sighed in relief

"Now, can you please explain what happened here?"

"Well, I don't think that this is necessary since you've already arrived before I start dealing with the monsters here, meaning that you've seen everything right?"

"That's right, but–"

"If that's the case, then excuse me to leave, I also need to rest you know…"

"Ah yes, you are right" the man replied smiling "Thanks for taking care of the student while we couldn't do anything"

"There is nothing to thank me for, I didn't do anything special…" Velten said as he walked away.

Another man approached the one with the white armor and said "Did you get any information about who that kid is, leader?"

"No, he seemed like avoiding talking about anything related to him" The man replied while watching Velten's figure slowly disappearing in the distance "Mathias, search for every single information you can get about that kid… we can't leave him to go easily"

"Roger that. I'll start investigating about him right now"

"The chairman will be very happy to hear that there is a talented kid like this since we haven't had any good people like him in ages," the man thought and went to help the team get the students out safe.

"Wait… Velten, wait…"

As he was walking back home, Velten heard someone calling him from behind, so he turned around with a puzzled look on his face to find Rose running toward him.

"I… was calling you… since you left the school". Rose looked out of breath, and she was gasping for air since she was running all the way from the school to where Velten was.

"Is that so? I didn't hear you at all…" Velten replied confused. He was thinking about going and talking to his mom about what happened today, so he wasn't paying attention to anything else.

"Yes!!" Rose replied furiously while giving Velten a fierce glare with some tears in her eyes from the running she did. "Although I was calling you loudly, you didn't seem to hear anything."

"Ok, ok, it's my fault, just relax" Velten responded while trying to keep her away from him. "So, why did you follow me all the way here? You should go home and rest for a bit"

"Don't worry about it and answer me, what was that you did in the school?"

"Huh? What do you mean?" Velten lifted his brow in confusion. He already expected people to question his strength after what happened in the school, but he expected Rose to understand the situation since she was pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the abnormal powers that people have.

"Don't try to play dumb with me, I know your powers better than anyone, but something looked different there, you aren't the same person I know" Rose replied with a serious face.

"I don't know what exactly are you talking about, but let's just say that… I worked hard in the last few days" Velten was trying to avoid her questions and change the subject as much as he can, but it seems Rose wasn't ready to back off yet.

"Stop messing around, there is no way someone can increase his power this much in just a week" Rose shouted and caught the attention of some people that were passing by.

She wasn't angry, but rather afraid and worried. People tend to fear what they don't understand, and this situation is pretty similar.

Rose didn't understand how Velten got this powerful. although it isn't something really amazing compared to the other kids that awakened their powers at an early age but coming this far in just a week wasn't easy to accept.

Velten put his hand on her head and gave her a small pat and said smiling "Remember when I said I had more important things to do than attending school the other day? Let's say that this is a small step in what I have to do now"

"Huh? What do you mean by that?"

"I told you before, didn't I? it's a secret, and when the right time comes, I'll surely tell what am I doing"

"You should now go home and rest, your awakening session is soon right?" Velten added smiling.

"How did you know? I kept it a secret from you because I wanted to surprise you"

"Ah shit, I can't tell her that she told me about it in the future," Velten thought. "Ah, I just… heard you talking to yourself about it the other day before we leave the house for school"

"Wait, you heard me talking to myself?!" Rose's face flushed, and she covered her face with both hands to hide her embarrassment.

"I genuinely didn't expect that to work but… oh well, we take that". Velten walked her home after that and then headed home himself.

"I hope mom made some Chakhchoukha today, I haven't eaten it in a while," Velten thought while walking.
