Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: I'd Like to See Who Dares

The afternoon class is Fashion History of China and the West, and with the weather outside, it really makes people sleepy.

But on the podium, when the old professor talked about "crossed collar robe with hidden buckle and belted waist," his eyes lit up.

Elise Don sat in the corner of the lecture hall, finished taking the last line of notes, and took out her phone from a Dior floral tote bag, sending the "Sorry" emoji to Fatty Jun.

It was a slightly mischievous little rabbit, with crooked ears, offering an orange carrot that jumped off the screen.

The video of Madeline Hunter drowning was sent to her by Fatty Jun.

He got it from someone else, after all.

Since it had a part of him rescuing someone, Fatty Jun clipped it and sent it to Elise Don, with a message—

[See, you made a scene, nearly drowned me.]

Elise Don had only seen these ten seconds of video. Knowing Fatty Jun was a good swimmer, she thought he was just boasting and added another line.

[Alright! I know you played hero last night and saved a beauty.]

Who knew after a whole night, Fatty Jun replied instantly.

[Not joking with you, if it weren't for the help last night, today you'd be attending my and Madeline Hunter's funerals. Really, Young Master Leo still cares about you, otherwise, he wouldn't have made life so hard for Madeline Hunter.]

[I've explained the whole thing to you before, why not forgive Leo Lee just this once?]

Caring also means cheating?!

If he cares, why get someone else to play mediator?!

Pah!

Elise Don replied: [Mention Leo Lee again and I'll block you.]

After sending that message, Elise Don continued to copy down the board notes.

Fatty Jun and Leo Lee were both in the economics and trade department, probably even sitting together in class, and there's a good chance this message was orchestrated by Leo Lee.

With her phone face down beside her, only a sliver of battery left, Elise Don allowed it to cling on, continuing to focus on the lesson.

After class, Elise Don walked out with the crowd, the tall and bright corridor buzzing with conversations.

Unwilling to climb the stairs, Elise Don stood in the lobby waiting for the elevator, catching occasional glances from passersby.

Breaking up so unpleasantly, Elise Don didn't want to acknowledge the gossipers, but the two girls behind her talked louder and louder.

One said, "See, still so cocky after being dumped."

The other said, "After all, she's the heiress of the Fenton Group."

"That's right, it might be the first time the little princess got dug out, I heard Leo's new girlfriend even drives her car now."

"Hehe, got her man and then her car—"

The surrounding air suddenly went quiet.

Elise Don wanted to continue listening, but when the two girls fell silent, she turned around to see that Leo Lee had approached at some point.

With a height of six feet two, wearing a black shirt and casual pants, sleeves rolled to his forearms, revealing a customized Burberry cuff, he swept a fierce glance over the two girls, exuding a slightly tyrannical CEO vibe.

Almost everyone hesitated with fear.

"Lily."

He had just finished class himself and came over right away, "Why didn't you reply to my messages?"

Elise Don didn't want to say much, seeing the elevator arriving, she tried to get on, only to be held back by Leo Lee's hand on her shoulder.

"Let's talk."

"There's no need…"

Without any room for argument, Elise Don was dragged by Leo Lee, going against the people flow towards the outside.

The surrounding people feared Leo Lee's domineering ways and made way for them.

The two of them went up to the rooftop terrace.

There was only a server room there catering to the entire campus's IT needs, rarely visited except for maintenance.

Elise Don shook off the grip, holding her right hand under her left wrist, a circle of red marks angering her, she glared at Leo Lee.

"I thought we made everything clear about the breakup."

"I also thought Fatty Jun made everything clear to you." Leo Lee grabbed Elise Don's shoulders again, his height imposing down on her, "But it seems not."

Elise Don turned her head aside, she didn't even want to look at him.

Leo Lee felt a sense of helplessness, like hitting a cotton wall with his fist.

"Lily, the car, purely compensation for Madeline Hunter because of last night." He softened his tone, bending down to accommodate her.

"I've been just fooling around with her all along, you're the one I want to marry."

Elise Don looked up into his eyes, tears swiftly gathered.

In a mere six months, how did she go from being "the one I like" in Leo Lee's words, to "the one I want to marry"?

Is this an upgrade in status or an extinguishment of emotions?

Elise Don couldn't tell.

But there was one thing she had to make clear.

"I have no need to marry you, Leo Lee. From the moment you cheated, we ended. Please go back and tell your family clearly, the breakup is on you, not me, and don't have your dad give my dad any trouble."

"So you're afraid of my dad," Leo Lee chuckled, suddenly releasing his grip.

He eyed Elise Don's cautious gaze, licking his lips.

"Sweetheart, face reality, this marriage, as long as I say it continues, no one to stop it."

Elise Don widened her eyes: "What do you mean?"

"I mean, if I don't break up, you're still mine. At University A, in the Beijing circle, let's see who dares to touch Leo Lee's girl."
