Chapter 56 - staying a while

Audrey woke up to sun light on her face, she was enjoying the sleep so much she used the pillow to shield her eyes from the light. Till it downed on her, the sun is fully up and shining,

"I have lectures today!".

She jumped out of the couch, since this wasn't her house, she did quick 50 pushups. This time she took her bag, can't forget it the second time, she thought

Audrey immediately bolted out of the room,"I have never woken up this late before".

Come to think of it, she didn't have that dream today. Maybe that's why she slept so sound.

"Audrey!", Someone called, Audrey was about to fly the stairs down.

She paused, then turned to find who called her name. Damaris stood far from her, with clutches under both her arms. She was wearing a baggy top with night shorts. She looked cute compared to the weird way she always dressed, but her face was still badly bruised.

"What are you doing there? You're meant to be resting", Audrey turned to look at her. "Do you need help?"

Damaris tried walking closer but nearly fell, Audrey rushed towards her before she fell, because she kept wobbling.

"Can't you be careful?", Audrey scolded her.

"my bad. This is my first time using this, it's so hard", Damaris said standing up properly with Audrey's assistance.

Damaris came out of the bathroom to meet an empty sofa, so she prepped faster and rushed after Audrey. She woke up and realized she had taken up all the space, resorting to Audrey sleeping on the couch.

"Where are you going?"Damaris asked, looking at Audrey. Audrey's hair was still messy but surprisingly she didn't have bad morning breath.

"The doctor said you shouldn't undergo any stress".

"Yeah someone said that to me yesterday, I can't remember who", Audrey said trying to recall, but she shook it off cause she still couldn't remember after pausing for a while. "I'm fine. You don't need to worry, I'm just going home, after that I'll head to school".

"It's a Saturday", Damaris said.

"It is?", Audrey asked taken back, now I sound like a nerd, she whined.

"dad took excuse for both of us to be off from school for a while", Damaris said standing on one foot. "I know if you go to school Claire won't stop until she makes your school day miserable and you need to recover fully to fight back".

She did have a point, Audrey needed to be healed properly and physically fit to take on anyone, but a while was much.

"And attendence. Test?", Audrey asked.

"We can take make up test, dad spoke to the owner about everything so don't worry", Damaris said still struggling to Walk in clutches.

"Stop", Audrey said picking Damaris off her feet, she hung her bag well on her back.

"i'll help you".

They had to cast Damaris's leg to keep it positioned well, it was so big.

"Where do you want to go? I'll take you there then go home", Audrey started walking towards Damaris's room.

"No I'm going down stairs", Damaris said and turned the other direction.

"You're not fully healed, please stay until you are. Or just a little longer", Damaris pleaded hesitant but desperate. "I really need someone to talk to".

For a while now Damaris has been lonely, had no one to talk to but the boys. No one wanted to talk to her because they were scared Claire would pick on them too and her maids are to afraid to talk to her because it might cause them their job.

"Why? Aren't they people around to talk to here? They are so many girls around... Don't you talk to any?", Audrey asked climbing down the last step. Audrey used Damaris as her usual early morning weight lift, just that Damaris wasn't heavy to her.

"No. Those are the maids of the house, they see me as their master so they mostly try to avoid having long conversations with me. The only people in house are my cousin Tyson, his friend Reign and my step siblings", she Explained.

That was shocking news to Audrey, she thought Damaris was the only child, turns out she has steps.

"But My step mother poisoned my siblings minds against me so they hate me", she said with a sad expression. "Except Claude only he wasn't brainwashed by his mom, I don't have any other friends".

"What a family", Audrey still stood in front of the stairs. "Won't your dad scold you for having a stranger in the house?".

"Dad's always away, besides he didn't complain when Tyson brought Reign to live with us, it will be fine. So that's a yes?!" she asked all excited.

"I don't know…".

"Plleeaasseee", she pleaded.

The way she explained everything, Audrey didn't hear her mention her mom. So she assumed she was late, she was curious but asking would be opening up wounds.

They was really nothing to it staying here, she thought. Damaris needed a friend, and Audrey wasn't really doing anything at home.

"Fine. under one condition".

"Anything. we can share my room. Money?" She asked excited.

"Chill dude", Audrey said .

"Sorry" Damaris replied covering her face with her palms.

"i don't need your money. My condition is i don't have to talk to anyone in this house, especially your steps. Both mom and daughters", she said.

"Sure no problem", Damaris agreed.

"Yay!", Damaris rejoiced wiggling about.

"chill dude, you'll fall", Audrey said repairing Damaris properly. She almost fell from her hand, cause she wiggled to much.

"Sorry".

"Alright then. Where am I taking you?", Audrey asked.

Now that she looked at the house, she was taken back. Yesterday was hectic, her mind was all about making sure Damaris was alright that she didn't pay attention to her house.

The last floor was so wide, it could be used as a ball room. Damaris directed her where the dining was, it was at the far end after going through some doors. Audrey walked till she came to a halt in front of a door.
