Chapter 57 - dining room

if Damaris wasn't around to give her directions over the mansion, she'd be lost. Her mansion was almost like a castle,it was really large and spacious.

Enough room to ride my skateboard, Audrey thought.

Before Damaris turned the door knob, she paused.

"Audrey", she called.

"Hmm", Audrey answered looking down at who called her.

"Would your family mind you staying here? I mean won't they be worried you haven't returned home?", Damaris asked sincerely as she loosened her grip around her neck.

For a long while Audrey didn't say anything, what could she say. She laughed internally, so if mom And dad were still alive, they'd be worried about me.

"I'm an orphan", Audrey said, no emotion written on her face. Made it hard for Damaris to know if Audrey was sad, or ok.

"Huh?", She asked taken back.

"They are dead", Audrey said with a poker expression. Audrey had learnt to accept the truth, crying over it wouldn't solve anything. It wouldn't bring them back. Seeing them in her unconscious state was what kept her going.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to.. I didn't know", she said in a worried voice. I shouldn't have asked her, Damaris whined in her mind.

"Don't worry about it, it's in the past", Audrey said adjusting Damaris properly in her arms, she kept slipping because of too much movement.

"We've stood here long enough, let's enter".

"ok", Damaris said brief, Audrey could hear the guilt in her voice.

Taking a deep breath Damaris turned the knob, opening the door.

"Wow!"Audrey said in amaze.

"what?", Damaris asked in panick, but Audrey just shook her head letting out a laugh.

We walked into a large area, a long dining table with a dozen chairs on each sides. They were maids on each sides of the table attending to the people present on the table, they were also maid who stood at the wall.

is this how royals live?, Audrey asked herself. A few varieties of dishes were arranged on the table.

On the table the middle seat or the head seat was empty, so was the first and second seat on the right side. The two seats after that was filled up.

On the left, there were four people,an elderly lady who sat on the first seat on the left. she had light peach skin, with a mixture of white and black shoulder length wavy hair. Her eyes were light brown.

Through the clothes and the jewelry she wore, she looked expensive.

Right next to her where sitted two girls, they looked close to Audrey's age. They both had the same color of skin as elderly woman but a bit lighter. One had dark brown straight hair while the other a bit lighter brown styled hair, they both had brown eyes.

Sitted on the table they were three boys, one Audrey had seen before while the other 2 she haven't met.

They both had light skin tone but one skin lighter than the other, too light he almost looked white. One had brown hair similar to the girl sitted beside him, he also had honey brown eyes.

The other guy was sitted across the other side of the table, he looked in his early twenties, almost younger than the guy he sat next to. He had black silky hair tied in a low ponytail, some strand of black hair covered his grey eyes.

"This room is big. Why are they so many seats?", Audrey asked looking the walls, the walls were finely in a cream background with pink flower print.

"My family mostly expects so many guest during events or occasions, we don't want shortage of chairs", Damaris explained.

"You should see my late mom and dads room, is really spacious. Followed by my step mom and dad room".

That is a win for her dad, she thought, because he has so much for his respect for his late wife he went to a new room with his next. She was curious, if he loved his wife so much, why did he marry another?

"where is your seat?",Audrey asked still looking around.

"My seat is on the right. Beside Reign", she said. "Who?",Audrey asked looking at two boys sitted on the right side of the table. "Reign", she pointed. "The boy with black hair".

"Oh the cute boy with grey eyes", Audrey smiled watching Damaris burn red as she nodded.
