Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Rosie, Apologize to Melody Sutton Now

Under the shade of a tree, in a patch of weeds, Melody sat comfortably in a chair, while her assistant Jesse held up a rather large mirror in front of her; she really loves acting, and if she truly wanted to practice, she'd find a less crowded place to quietly rehearse, without needing her assistant to search for such a big mirror, seemingly just to deliberately have someone take photos and upload them online.

And then sell some articles saying: how hard Melody works for her acting and so on.

"Jesse, make sure those paparazzi hiding in the dark spots take good photos, remember to edit them for me," Melody said before taking a sip of blood syrup, 'poof', she spat it out, looking at herself in the mirror, observing the arc of the blood spray.

"I think it's excellent, I really don't know what the director is thinking, how could it be any better? Could anyone possibly be better than me?"

The young girl was indignant, and as soon as she finished speaking, a shadow loomed over her.

Her eyes, filled with dissatisfaction, immediately switched to a gentle smile, turning back to see Rosie, her face instantly lined with mockery: "Oh, it's not your scene today, are you here to be my stand-in again?"

Rosie bent over to look at Melody's face stained with blood, her porcelain white skin smudged with blood, round eyes and red lips; only flaw was her nose, full of technological vibe.

"Nice nose, how much did it cost to get done?"

"Hey! What are you saying, my nose is... naturally born." Melody sounded a bit guilty, not daring to raise her voice.

The sunlight was sliced by the leaves, scattering dappled light under the tree shade. Rosie had good and sharp eyesight, and when the leaves swayed with the breeze, the mottled shadows scanning Melody's cheek, Rosie could see the transparent nose bridge.

"Suggest Miss Sutton to apply thicker powder, otherwise when the light hits, the nose is very obvious."

As soon as Melody heard this, she immediately took out a compact, patting it on her nose bridge, and when she realized, gritted her molars, glancing at Rosie beside her with a begrudging expression: "Just because you have a big-name agent, what's there to be arrogant about, imagining even Jane is unlucky, never having had an artist like you of such mediocrity."

Rosie chatted with her for a few moments, realizing the woman's thinking was quite simple, adept at little tricks but easily seen through; she is theatrical but her methods are clumsy.

She couldn't understand, how a woman who likes to take shortcuts and has questionable morals could be together with Blake Shaw?

Seeing Rosie silent, Melody began secretly plotting, exchanging glances with Jesse.

Jesse was a chubby boy, with sly eyebrows and small eyes, not seeming like a good person. Receiving Melody's signal, he immediately responded, "Hey, miss, I'm a bit tired holding this up, could you help me?"

Rosie held a smile at the corner of her mouth, lifting her gaze to look at the little chubby assistant holding the mirror: "If you can't hold it, then just put it down, I don't weigh much, if holding such a large mirror causes it to fall and hurts Miss Melody, I'd be a criminal."

Melody's plan was exposed, her face full of unwillingness.

With their little scheming, Rosie could see right through it; Melody apparently had no genuine intention to act, otherwise she wouldn't have NG'd so many times in a row; given her current state, she probably couldn't film anything meaningful, and if she gets injured, then she could rest immediately.

How to get injured without being blamed by the crew?

That's to use the hands of others.

Melody's eyes showed a hint of ferocity, as assistant Jesse slyly shifted positions, using the large mirror to block part of the view.

Rosie just about to turn and leave, suddenly got splashed by blood syrup obscuring her vision, her sight filled with crimson; the girl covered her eyes, unable to retaliate, which was a golden opportunity for Melody.

The sky was vast and boundless, beneath the clear blue of Ancient Village, the filming location suddenly erupted like thunder, with someone shouting: "Oh my God, the lead actress and the second lead are battling, this is big news, quickly take photos!"

"Wow, Melody is being pushed on the ground and beaten; oh dear, what's this second lead's name?"

"It's a newcomer."

"My goodness, a newcomer so bold as to hit Melody?"

Over on Jane's side, sitting with directors and producers chatting lively in front of the monitors, pulling by the screams from the fight afar, crowds rushed in that direction.

Producer Sutton 'bang!' slapped the table: "This is outrageous!"

He strides ahead, pulling people aside one by one: "Delete all the photos you've taken, or wait for a lawyer's letter; infringing on someone's image rights, you don't want to go to court over a gossip, do you?"

"Stage manager, clear the set." Director Clarke, as the lead director, also looked extremely displeased, forced to halt filming.

Once the scene was fairly cleaned up.

Rosie stands to the side, her face covered in blood, her eyes startlingly red and sinister. Melody, besides her messy hair and a slapmark on her face, didn't seem to have any other injuries.

"Director, she was jealous of me being the lead, came to taunt me and splashed blood on me, I obeyed your teachings, was practicing spitting blood alone, she provoked me first and made me this way."

Rosie saw her telling blatant lies, rolled her eyes: "Who splashed blood first, does your mouth only speak nonsense?"

"It was you, it was definitely you, Jesse can testify." Melody called upon assistant Jesse for testimony, all eyes turned to the chubby boy holding the mirror aside, he faced so many pairs of eyes, swallowing uneasily: "It's… it's this woman suddenly appeared and splashed blood on my Melody."

Producer Sutton originally had a bad impression of Rosie, other directors didn't know her well either, knowing only that she was Jane's artist; for Jane's sake, she was allowed to enter and exit the filming site several times.

"What's my point, bringing in such a troublemaker was bound to cause issues." Producer Sutton snapped at the assistant director: "Look at this now, Melody still has scenes today, now looking like this, taking five hours for makeup this morning, now when the sun is high, how to keep on schedule."

"I didn't splash her with blood, she staged it herself." Rosie gritted her teeth, gazing fiercely at her.

"Enough!" Jane approached, her eyes glaring at Rosie, full of disappointment: "Quickly apologize to Melody, and offer your regrets to the director and producer."

Rosie pressed her lips, her eyes stained with blood, the corners of her scarlet eyes glimmering faintly; the girl clenched her fists, hesitant to apologize; she looked down at Melody sprawled on the ground, who wore a tear-streaked face, meeting Rosie's gaze, showed a hint of triumph in her eyes.

Melody still thought it was not chaotic enough, opened her mouth again: "Director, it's my first time acting, encountering such a thing, truly causing trauma to me mentally."

Jane suddenly interrupted Melody's attempt to incite trouble: "Rosie, apologize to Melody now."
