Mrs. Tako asked me how my job was going, and I said that I found it very interesting. We discussed job stuff and went back to our various classrooms to continue with our jobs. The day was so interesting, and I loved and enjoyed every single thing. My pupils are so intelligent and hardworking, and teaching them was amazing. The day ended on a good note even though I felt very tired due to overthinking. I was on my way back home when I understood how hungry I was because I hadn't eaten much in school, and I badly wanted to reach home as fast as I could so that I could eat something. Thank God there wasn't much traffic on the road.
On arriving home, when I entered the house, the aroma of Banga soup and kwacoco (a traditional meal made with palm nuts and ground cocoyam) assaulted my nostrils, and I couldn't wait any longer before eating. So I went into the kitchen to see my mom. "Mama, good afternoon," I greeted. "Hello, my baby. How are you doing? How was your first day?" "Mama, I'm very hungry," I told her while checking what she made in the pot. On opening it, I wasn't disappointed, and I exclaimed, "Mama, you're the best. I love you!" She laughed and asked me to go shower before coming to eat. I left for the bathroom.
After taking a shower, I went to the dining area and saw that the table was all set. "My baby, you can have a plate and eat as much as you can," Mama told me. I said a short prayer and got started. My Mama's cooking skills keep on surprising me every day, and I think she could enter a contest with the best chefs and still win. Just a taste, I thought I'd evaporate. Everything was perfect, and every bite was another explosion of savors in my mouth.
These are some of the rare moments I enjoy in my life—seeing my daughter's innocence and childishness 😆 when she's in front of a plate of food cooked by me. It's as if her stolen childhood days are back, and I can see my young Lana enjoying her life, and it is priceless. "Take it easy, my baby. Your food isn't going anywhere." "Mama, this food is so delicious, and you know I'm in love with your cooking. Let me eat. Mama, allow me to enjoy my meal." My mom burst into laughter and said, "Okay, okay, my dear daughter. Enjoy your meal."
We enjoyed the meal, cleaned the table, and after eating... "Thank you, Mom, for the meal. It was delicious," I told my mom. "You're welcome, my dear. Now let's sit comfortably on the sofa. I really want to know how your day went." "Mama, my day was great, and my pupils are so adorable and cute. I really enjoyed my first day." "And what about your colleagues?" Mom asked. "They are kind, but I only had the chance to discuss with Madam Stella. In fact, she's the one who came to me and advised me on things I need to know. What I really enjoyed today was the time spent with my pupils, and I'm eager to meet them once more tomorrow.
