Li-li fed her daughter some meat and put her to sleep. It wasn't proper to be awake at night and she didn't want to leave her daughter in a room, along with other children who were sleeping their hearts out.
She walked out of the room and bumped into Quin.
"I am sorry." She tried walking away but Quin blocked her.
"Stay away from Hao-Hao, you gold digging whore." She pointed a finger at her. "He's using you as a cultivation vessel, draining your magic slowly from your weak body."
"Leave him alone." She hissed at her.
"Or what?" She said mockingly. "He doesn't belong to you and you mean nothing to him."
"She's my wife."
They turned around and saw Hao-Hao, standing nearby and glaring daggers at Quin.
"That's a lie." She stammered.
Hao-Hao stood in between them and carried Li-li back into the room, leaving Quin stunned.
"Don't let her talk to you like that." He placed her in her daughter's bed and left the room.
"Sea monster."
The women shouted and ran in all directions. Mei-Mei had woken up to screams and shrieks of people. Children were crying and yelling.
Mei-Mei had been looking for her parents and was devastated. 'What if they fell overboard?'
Hao-Hao and a few more men, including Jun had lined up with arrows and firing them at the hideous beast.
It had black skin, long tentacles, a hideous black eye and spikes, forty centimeters long. It was terrifying. She ran to her father, who was focused on attacking the beast that he didn't notice his daughter jump into the ocean.
"Mei-Mei!" He screamed and dived into the water.
Mei-Mei noticed her tail become longer and her adorable ears were much visible. As she held her breath, she saw her father jump into the water.
With a coy smile, she said, "Why don't we take that bastard down?"
"My pleasure."
