Chapter 432 - Chapter 432 - Obito Uchiha 13. (The Boy Who Fell into Darkness...)

[Chapter Size: 2500 Words.]

Konoha, 44.

...

...

The battle continued. Several wood clones joined the fight. None of those clones possessed the ability to become intangible like Obito, but they could certainly use a large amount of chakra and were almost as powerful as the original body.

The battlefield turned into complete chaos. Flames, water, steam, adamantine chains, and clones rushed from one side to the other.

Even Naruto and Yamato interrupted their own training to watch the fight. On the other side, more clones of Towa herself also appeared. As an Uzumaki, she was extremely versatile with the Kage Bunshin, managing to multiply her numbers rapidly.

Kakashi and the others simply watched, completely astonished.

It was only after some time that Obito began using even more Mokuton, starting to create several trees in the middle of the battlefield to restrain the Uzumaki. At the same time, he unleashed one of his jutsu from the other dimension, and once again, the entire area transformed into sand.

The next instant, a giant hand emerged from the ground and captured Towa using the exact same trick he had used against Kakashi, defeating her.

"Hey, hey, hey!" the girl muttered, completely trapped by the enormous hand of sand.

"Very good! Very good!" Kushina began clapping excitedly.

"The fight is over!" Minato declared.

Towa simply sighed when she realized she had lost.

Kushina exchanged a glance with Minato before turning her attention back to Obito. She had been wondering about that ever since she saw the hand capture Kakashi. After all, she and Minato had also watched the fight through the house window and followed everything using their sensory abilities.

It seemed that Obito had picked up a few jutsu from his new friend...

The Uzumaki were famous for their strength, but it seemed practically impossible to break free from that giant hand. Even Towa's Adamantine Chains had failed against the technique, as though the hand's very seal nullified the energy they carried.

Just as he had done with Kakashi, Obito dispelled the technique, freeing Towa. Even though he was not the original user of the sand, he still retained a certain level of control over the tailed beast's jutsu.

The girl dropped to her knees on the ground as she dusted off her clothes a little. Instead of showing any frustration over her defeat, she simply smiled as all the small wounds across her body began to heal.

"Let me take care of you too," she said.

Towa quickly approached him. Obito could do nothing but watch as she stopped right in front of him, placed her hand on him, and released healing chakra to treat the small cuts and bruises he had received during the fight.

"You were amazing. I bet you weren't even fighting with your full strength," she commented.

Obito watched the last of his injuries disappear from his body before smiling shyly.

"Thank you... I guess." She smiled as well.

"So... about what we agreed on... it's really going to happen?" she asked quietly and timidly, even under the gaze of everyone watching the two of them at that moment.

Obito did not even look at the others and simply nodded. "Yes. I said I would, didn't I?" He smiled, while Towa returned the gesture with a look of complete satisfaction.

"Look at those two lovebirds," Akane said from the side, laughing.

The adults merely smiled at the interaction between the two. Kakashi looked completely stunned, while Rin's expression hardened as soon as she heard that comment.

In any case, everyone gathered together again. Minato then looked at his two wives.

"I want to borrow Obito for a conversation. Meanwhile, Kushina, you can train Naruto. I'll leave a few clones behind to watch over my students, while Hanabi knows very well what to do with hers."

They all simply nodded. Yamato would train by himself, and Tsuna would come to observe his training and give him a few tips regarding the Wood Release.

Obito watched his sensei create a few clones. Although his teammates were still full of questions about everything that had happened during that fight, he knew that it was not the time to answer any of them. He simply remained silent as Minato placed a hand on his shoulder.

The next instant, the two of them disappeared from the area. When they reappeared, they were no longer at the training grounds, but on a beach.

Obito looked at the waves crashing against the shore and frowned in confusion. "Where are we, Sensei?" he asked.

Minato kept his eyes on the sea with a somewhat nostalgic expression. "This is where I met one of my very first and dearest friends."

Obito looked confused.

"I'm going to tell you a long story." Minato began explaining that, when he was still a child attending the Ninja Academy, he used to come to that place to train by himself, where no one from the village would find him.

Obito listened attentively to everything.

As he spoke, Minato raised his hand as though it required no effort at all. A Rasengan formed in the palm of his hand, and shortly afterward, after transforming it into a Rasenshuriken, he hurled it toward the sea.

The explosion echoed across the water, illuminating the area as enormous waves rose into the air.

Minato was not finished. He also extended his hand toward the ocean and began rapidly firing several rays of light. The explosions raced across the surface of the sea, causing destruction every bit as impressive as Minato's Rasengan, though in a completely different way.

Obito still did not fully understand his sensei's abilities, but he knew they were worthy of the deepest admiration.

As they watched the glow of the explosions slowly fade away, Minato continued his story, talking about the time he trained in that place and the day he encountered a small pufferfish.

It was a story Obito already knew, but he was surprised to learn that this was the exact place where it had all happened, in the southern part of the Land of Fire.

In any case, Minato continued explaining how that little fish would eventually become an enormous dragon.

"But enough about me. Tell me about yourself." Minato turned his gaze toward Obito. "I want to know exactly what happened. Especially regarding the clan. Tell me everything, down to the smallest detail."

Obito nodded and began recounting everything that had happened since the previous day. He spoke about the confrontation with the Uchiha clan, about what happened after he left, about meeting the three Uzumaki girls, about Rin, and, after saying goodbye to them, he even admitted, somewhat embarrassed, everything he had overheard the girls saying during their outing.

He also told him about the conversation he had with Naruto.

Minato simply listened in silence, wearing a satisfied smile as he noticed how much his student was maturing.

"I don't think Rin spoke badly about you to her friends. She's not that kind of person. Unfortunately, people, on the other hand, can be cruel by nature. That's just how the village is. I've experienced that firsthand," Minato said.

"But in any case, Obito, I'm glad you've decided to move forward. I can't say you should have forced yourself to do so, because we can't always leave our feelings behind. Maybe she simply isn't the right person for you. We can't control other people's hearts."

He paused briefly before smiling. "But I'm happy to see the way that Uzumaki girl talked to you. She seemed far more excited than someone who had simply fought you."

Obito could not help but smile shyly. "She invited me to the Spring Festival. She said Kushina told her about it and that she wanted to see it with me."

He saw his teacher flash a knowing smile. "Ah... I see..." Minato murmured.

"Sensei... do you know what that festival means?" Obito asked cautiously.

Minato smiled. "Of course I do. It was practically the first date I ever had with Kushina. We were just children, but she was so shy and beautiful that day... In the end, we were just two young people enjoying each other's company," Minato said, still wearing a nostalgic smile.

"So... it's something pretty romantic..." Obito murmured, scratching the back of his head with some concern. Would he really be able to handle a situation like that?

"Come on, you'll do just fine," Minato replied with a light laugh. "Don't waste this date, understand?"

Immediately afterward, his playful expression vanished, replaced by a serious one.

"Now let's talk about your clan." Obito nodded, knowing the conversation was about to become much more important.

"It's not a bad thing that you attended the meeting. After all, if you truly want to pursue your dream of becoming Hokage one day, it'll be good to start building political influence. With the Uchiha's desire to finally have a Hokage from their own clan, I don't see why you couldn't be an excellent candidate for the position."

Obito was somewhat surprised. "Do you really think I could become Hokage?" he asked, astonished by the confidence his teacher had in him.

"Of course I do." Minato smiled confidently. "You'll have power. You also possess a will and a spark that very few people have, Obito." He then placed a hand on the boy's head.

"I believe you'll be the one to receive the hat after me. After all, I don't intend to spend my entire life wearing that hat." Obito was overcome with emotion, tears streaming down his face.

"Thank you, Minato-sensei..."

"In any case, listen to what I'm telling you. I believe the Uchiha clan is entering a golden age, now that you can finally leave so many old problems behind."

Minato smiled before continuing. "This will also be a great experience for you. You'll have a voice within the clan, and as you continue showing the world who you truly are, the village and even the entire Land of Fire will know who Obito Uchiha is, and your chances of earning the hat through many heroic deeds will come easily."

Obito simply nodded, feeling warmth spread through his chest.

"I'm also very proud of you. You're maturing far too quickly. You're handling this entire situation calmly and rationally. Men twice your age would have difficulty acting the way you have."

Obito smiled proudly as Minato continued speaking. The conversation returned to the clan once more, and the Hokage began preparing Obito for the future, giving him all kinds of advice about how he should behave during meetings, conduct himself in public, and display authority whenever necessary.

They basically spent the rest of the day talking. Only after that did they return home.

When they arrived, they said goodbye to each other. Obito headed to his own house, while Minato entered his home, finding Kushina preparing some dessert for the afternoon. As always, she enjoyed making cakes and pies.

"Minato! Come have some of this peach pie!" she called immediately, without him even needing to announce his arrival.

His chakra was practically a beacon to the entire family. Minato walked into the kitchen, picked up little Itachi in his arms, and while holding him, took a bite of the pie. "This is really good."

"So, how did your conversation with Obito go?" Kushina asked.

Minato simply smiled. "The boy has been surprising me a lot. Naruto even helped him yesterday with romantic matters, you know? It seems the two of them had quite a mature conversation, discussing things that normally only adults would talk about."

Kushina looked pleased to hear that, but at the same time, her expression grew slightly concerned.

"Are you planning to tell Naruto everything?" The moment the question was asked, the atmosphere in the kitchen immediately became much heavier.

Minato walked over to the window with Itachi in his arms and looked toward Naruto and Yamato's house near their own.

It seemed they had gone out to get something to eat together, as they were not there. Even so, Minato could sense their chakra from the middle of the village without needing to expand his sensory range very much.

"I'll have to talk to him. I intend to do it tomorrow."

He paused briefly. "The time Naruto could remain here is almost over. He'll be ready to return to his own world."

Minato turned his attention back to Kushina and Tsunade, who remained in the kitchen.

His expression became serious. "And yes... I intend to settle this matter with Naruto once and for all."

"How did things happen in that world for everything to end like this, Minato...?" Kushina's pleading voice murmured through the kitchen.

Who was the masked man who had killed Naruto's parents in that other world? Minato already knew the answer very well.

But, of course, he couldn't simply make that claim without proof. So he chose to wait until he had gathered enough evidence before sharing his suspicions with his wives.

Obito's ability was the main clue as to who the masked man might be.

Obito had fallen into the darkness of the world and become someone evil in Naruto's world... And he was a great villain in Naruto's world.

Because of that, none of them had the courage to talk about it, neither with Naruto nor, much less, with Obito.

Obito certainly didn't need to carry that burden.

As for Naruto... He needed to have a conversation.

He also needed Naruto to train with Obito during the coming weeks, which would be his last in that world. Naruto needed to be prepared to face someone with the abilities of Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan.

Kushina didn't want to believe it at first. However, the evidence began to pile up.

Furthermore, when Minato asked Yamato about Kakashi's Sharingan in that other world, the answer only strengthened their suspicions even more.

They wanted to understand why Kakashi possessed a Sharingan. That was when they discovered that the eye had belonged to Obito.

More than that... It was Obito's left eye, the very same one that, in that other world, had been given to Kakashi.

Kushina simply couldn't believe it.

Obito... The boy who was so cheerful, kind, and full of dreams... How could someone like him have fallen into such profound darkness?

At the time, Minato simply recalled one detail. "The Madara of that world is capable of manipulating the entire world if she so desires. Obito fell into her hands... A boy with Obito's potential would certainly have caught her attention. She would have seen him as the perfect person to carry on her plans." That was what Minato had said back then.

Without anyone else knowing, Minato also knew very well how that entire story would end.
