Though Charles said nothing, Shanshan could still hear his father's breathing quicken.

Charles swallowed hard, "Don't go down to the Earth's surface on your own, it's very dangerous, and you could very well die. If the gods of the Earth Sea haven't gone to the Earth's surface, there must be a reason."
Shanshan's brow furrowed slightly, "I know, I know, wasn't I just trying to help you out?"
