Chapter 28 - Dang it, you scared me half to death!

"Dang it, you scared me half to death! You haven't spoken for a long time; you could have made a pre-noise or something." Sophia complained. The goddess chuckled hearing her. It was still odd to Sophia; the celestial being behind her sounded like her, but it was also different at the same time it was… odd.

Again, she decided she had to put what she couldn't solve to the back of her mind, it wasn't the time to think about these things just yet and she did hear the goddess say that what she needed to see was about to be shown to her, so she again concentrated on the scene in front of her and caught the sight of Jasmine running to the side to... throw up. Throw up? Wait… is she?…

"This morning sickness is a real pain since it's neither morning nor do I have any illness!"- Jasmin complained as Althander brought her a wooden cup with water in it. "Pregnant! OMG she's pregnant!"- Sophia exclaimed, excitedly.

Then the scene she was watching started to blur. Wait is that it, is that all she gets to see. But in the next moment, it seemed time had sped up, Jasmin was about 7-8 months pregnant, and Althander had a worried look on his face.

They had been stuck on this island for what seemed to be forever and they had no way of knowing if they could ever leave this island or if anyone will find them here and his wife, Yes. Jasmin was now his wife, as they followed their marriage ritual down to a Tee, which was acknowledge by his Ancestors, by proof of the union rings permanently etched of the left hand ring fingers, was heavily pregnant with his pup/child as she calls it.

Before Sophia could process what she was seeing, the goddess's voice echoed around her, gentle but firm.

"Child, you needed to see this. To understand where you came from and why your path has been so... unusual."

Sophia spun around, or what could be just floated around and looked at the goddess but she said nothing, she didn't continue. so Sophia floated back around to continue watching the scene playing out before her.

"Your mother couldn't form a core, yet she absorbed and stored energy in ways that defied all known cultivation laws. Your father was a shifter, powerful in his own right. When you were conceived, something unprecedented happened—their energies merged within you in a way that had never occurred before. You became a bridge between two impossibilities."

The goddess paused, and Sophia felt a weight settle on her shoulders.

"What you're about to witness... it cannot be changed. It has already happened. But you must see it to understand what you carry within you, and why certain forces have been searching for you since the moment of your birth. Your parents made a choice that night—a sacrifice that saved you but scattered you across realms."

Sophia's breath caught. "What choice? What happened to them?"

"Watch, child. And remember—you are not here to change the past. You are here to understand your future. What they began, you must finish. The energy your mother couldn't control, the power your father wielded, the impossible fusion that created you—it all has a purpose. And soon, you will need to make a choice of your own."

The voice faded, leaving Sophia alone with the scene unfolding before her, her heart pounding with dread and anticipation.

Her throat tightened. She wanted to reach out, to touch them, to scream that she was here, that she existed, that she was theirs. But her hands passed through empty air, incorporeal as smoke.

"Mom... Dad..." The words felt strange on her tongue. Foreign. She'd never said them before. Not really. Not like this.

Tears blurred her vision as she watched Althander gently rub Jasmine's swollen belly, his face a mixture of joy and fear. That was her in there. That little life they were so worried about protecting. She was that baby.

But if they were here, trapped on this island, pregnant with her... then what happened? How did she end up alone? Why didn't she grow up with them?
