Megan was forced to get food for everyone in town. She was followed by Delmira as a watchdog. Rafael sat outside on a chair beside a table with some of the clues they had.
"Stop that. You're giving me goosebumps." Rafael snarled at Tyler
Tyler replied, "You look...happier, you know."
"Get out." Rafael snapped
Tyler shrugged his shoulders and got seated on the other end of the table.
"We're meeting Megan's guys today." Tyler reminded
Rafael nodded, "I'm aware. They might have information on the things I'm missing."
"Examples?" Tyler frowned
Rafael pressed his lips together and Tyler understood that his friend wouldn't say any more than that. He had to piece together what he wasn't being told on his own it would seem. He watched the kids who had more light in their eyes and smiled.
Lucielle was using her ears and energy to 'see' the ball. Her face was bright as though she had no negative emotions of any kind.
Tyler grinned, "I wish we played more like that back then."
"If you're here to be one hell of a distraction, you've succeeded." Rafael frowned
Megan returned and packed the food in the house as instructed by Paisley.
"Who knew a personal slave would be so useful?" Tyler mocked standing up
Megan's cheeks flushed, "Let's go...The Boss is waiting for us."
"I need to get ready," Paisley announced
The men sat down and started discussing the case. They were well aware that they had enough time to do that. When Paisley finally came, Rafael called the kids and they followed Megan deeper into the forest.
They saw an enormous grey stronghold after walking for what felt like forever. The front door opened up and a man wearing a full face mask with a woman followed a few steps behind and walked up to them.
"Boss, I brought them." Megan smiled
Tyler smiled, "I advise you to fire Megan before something irreversible occurs."
Tyler, the kids and Rafael walked in like they owned the whole building. The people inside looked at them with bewilderment.
"So, this is the resistance, huh?" Rafael said
A teen pushed forward, "Yes and who are you?"
"Just passing through. Trying to solve a mystery and it brought us here." Tyler smiled unfolding a paper
The paper was from among those they took from the twins' grandfather's stuff. A drawing but it wasn't so significant at the time. Although now it was since the drawing was in the middle of the Resistance's first floor.
"What's that?" Rafael asked the people
The Boss answered, "Our logo or symbol however you wish to call it. "
Alexandra jumped up at the logo and clung to it.
"Anything?" Tyler yelled
Alexandra shouted, "A..a keyhole?"
"Keyhole?" they repeated
The Boss frowned, "It's just a dent, I have tried."
Alexandra landed on the ground, made a mini crater and looked up at the Boss. She wrinkled her nose and pouted.
"I believe you. It's a keyhole. Do you think we can replicate it?" Rafael asked
Alexandra replied, "No...there, something about it-. "
Boss interrupted, "Satisfied?"
Before the answer was given an alarm echoed throughout the base. People started running around getting weapons, entering cars and running outside. The Boss excused himself and left.
" What's going on?" Paisley asked uninterestedly
Tyler smiled, "They're here. The man-made creatures."
"Let's go watch I guess." Rafael smiled seeing the kids' expressions
Paisley frowned, "Go by yourself. I'll look around, not every day you get to be in a revolution base."
"....Enjoy yourself." Tyler smiled
They left to through the exit the resistance ran out of. Their eyes widened at the sight of the creatures which were bigger, stronger and in large numbers. The creatures felt their arrival and started being defensive.
"They're scared." Tyler sighed looking at Rafael with a smile "And I'm bored."
"Please, Rafael." The twins went "We won't hurt the resistance, promise."
Rafael shrugged, "Fine. We'll help them since they annoy me as well."
The Boss exclaimed, "What are you doing here?!"
Their eyes changed colour and they released their energy. The resistance found it difficult to breathe or move their bodies. The Boss looked at Rafael and his group with a conflicted expression. A humanoid enemy looked at them and frowned.
"What are you?" It asked
A resistance fighter gasped, "They can talk?!"
Alexandra advanced to the talking creature and was slapped aside. She slid through the soil and rocks as Alexander ran forward. He was pushed back and Lucielle caught him in a water blob.
Rafael took off his jacket and looked at the humanoid. He appeared in front of the creature, caught its wrist and raised his knee coated in energy into its gut strongly.
The creature punched Rafael's right cheek, he gave it an uppercut and pulled back. Tyler jumped over Rafael's back, twisted his body and bashed his energy-coated knee into the creature's head.
The kids watched intently as Rafael and Tyler exchanged blows with the creature. Their eyes glowed fiercely and eerie manner. They realized they needed to learn how to properly fight and team up.
"Only physical attacks reinforced with energy are working well on it." Lucielle thought in shock
Tyler punched the creature's stomach, Rafael jumped as he gripped his friend's shoulder and kicked its neck. Tyler punched its side when it lost balance momentarily. Rafael jumped behind the creature and punched its kidneys cruelly.
The creature wasn't allowed to think or caught its breath. It felt pressured and desperate to give itself some space. It let out a dark-coloured aura and let out its claws. Tyler and Rafael pushed back.
The Boss noticed the five energy users' faces twisted.
"Disgusting." Rafael snapped
They hadn't noticed. Their canines were longer, their pupils became more vertical and they were releasing more refined energy.
"....I agree." Tyler admitted raising his right hand, "Let's just get rid of it."
"Let us help!" the twins in unison yelled
Rafael looked at his friend.
"I honestly don't mind." He shrugged
To their surprise, the creature turned around and started to run away. Rafael clicked his tongue, they all prepared to chase and the boss yelled, "Please let it go!!"
"Why would we do that?!" Alexandra growled
Rafael looked around and bit down an animalistic snarl as he spat out "Let it go."
"But-" Lucielle frowned
Tyler smiled, "We're not here for it and looked around. If we leave they won't last."
The kids sobered up a bit after taking in the surrounding environment and nodded their heads in understanding. An old-looking person came out of the hideout.
"Greetings. Forgive me for my late arrival, Monarchs." he bowed
The resistance soldiers looked shocked while Rafael and the group were confused as ever.
"...Who are you?" Lucielle asked in interest in the energy in him
"
