The year passed with the blink of an eye.
Right now we were getting ready for the graduation ceremony.
Emily went to her personal bouquet to get ready. I also got myself a dress with the money I have been saving from my scholarship, allowance and some part time job I have been doing during holidays. It cost me all my money . I didn't want to be looked down upon anyone so I spent all my money in my dress.
I got myself a maroon colour long , off-shoulder silhouette gown. It is a slit from the knee untill the end. It was beautified using some white stones designed in the shape of flowers on the waist. I felt content just looking at it.
I kept the dress on my bed and went to shower before getting ready. I got myself out of shower after around quarter to an hour . I dried my hair and sat in front of shower. I learned some skills of makeup this two years. I did very neutral makeup which is also known as no makeup makeup and then wore the dress. I don't have any prom partner so Emily asked me to go to her boutique after I got ready and join her from there.
When I reached her boutique, I was welcomed by the receptionist as Emily had already informed about my arrival. So now I am being guided by a lady towards the makeup room where Emily was waiting for me.
As I reached there I couldn't believe my eyes. Emily the Tom boy was wearing a gown. Her gown that she wore was so elegant. It is a high neck beaded champagne grey formal dress which was obviously tailor made by her personal designer. It perfectly hugged her in all the right places. The gown slightly swayed through the floor at the back . It showed her perfect curves. It is the first time ever since I have been here that she got out of her Tom boy style and she looked as gorgious as I imagined her to be.
I kept looking at her beauty untill I was interrupted by one of the worker.
"Excuse me mam...."
"Mam....."
"Uuuhh.....ummm.... yes."
" Miss Lane prepared this dress for you to accompany her to the prom."
I looked at the dress it was a mermaid cut silhouette blue dress with silver stones. It was perfect. But it isn't mine. It shure must be way more expensive then the one I am wearing. I couldn't accept it. I also knew the lady couldn't do anything if I reject the offer. I must talk to Emily about it.
" Umm.... Okay . Please keep it aside. I want to talk to Emily."
" But mam she can't attend you now."
" No problem I won't take much of her time."
Before they lady could say anything. I walked upto Emily.
" Emily.....Ummm..... I am sorry but I can't accept the dress you prepared for me."
She signed everyone to stop working on her. Then she looked towards me. Then looked back towards the mirror. She replied Coldly.
" I won't let you walk with me if you insist on wearing this dress."
" But I think it's beautiful."
She looked at me again with even colder stare .
" .... ofcourse not better then the one you offered."
" Don't explain. Just go and change. I am almost done with makeup. So you can get yours also done by the time you come out."
With that said she signed everyone to resume their work. I know I can't say anymore. But that doesn't mean I was going to accept the dress.
" Please keep the dress back . I won't wear it."
I was sad with her. He can't put her demand on me. I signed and sat on the waiting chair.
The lady walk upto me holding the dress instead of keeping it back.
" Mam.... You got Miss Lane wrong. She really cares about you. She never bothered herself with anyone. Not even her fiance or any other member of her family. "
" Well I know that."
" Maybe ....but you don't know that their is a problem with the brand you are wearing. Itay cause trouble to you only."
Sudden realisation struck in my head. I indeed got the dress in discount . The shop didn't even have much customer not worker. I wonder what problem could it be?
