Chapter 58 - Dormitories

"Now here are your dormitories. 1st years like you guys go on the right, while 2nd years and 3rd years are on your lefts." Sir Andwelf explained as the group gawked upon the sheer size of the dormitories.

This was not even the whole dormitory itself, it was just the block belonging to the first years, yet its size left everyone speechless and standing in awe.

"Ladies, your rooms are on the left, gentlemen your rooms are on the right. Strictly no one is allowed to visit any room without permission and supervision from professors and dorm owners ." Sir Andwelf expanded on his explanation.

"You may follow the lights leading to your dorm rooms as soon as you step within the dormitory grounds. Each person is assigned a dorm room to share with 3 other people, a total of four, you may find your respective groups now." Sir Andwelf paused, letting the people admire their new homes that they would live in for a long time.

"Are you seeing this? Just.... The scale of this is so huge!" Clay muttered to Josh with amazement written all over his face.

"Yeah, I'm not blind, I can definitely see." Josh replied again with his usual sarcastic remarks.

"Hopefully they would assign us in the same dorm." Clay crossed his fingers.

"Hopefully" Josh agreed.

The two admired the view for a while before Clay noticed that someone was watching and approaching them with not-so-kind intentions.

"Watch where you're goin—huh?" Jake tried bumping into Clay purposefully, but instead was met with only air, nearly tripping himself in the process.

As Jake composed himself and swiftly adjusted his stance, Clay was already whispering in Josh's ear.

"I told you man, he'd be coming for us sooner or later" Clay was nearly in tears saying this, why'd his buddy have to go around making problems for the future only on the first day?

"Relax man, this guys a pushover, see?" Josh gestured as Jake caught wind of what was just said.

"What did you just say?!" Jake was furious, he was never treated like this before. It was infuriating that these peasants treated him like a joke, when it was supposed to be the other way around.

"Okay, now you've done it, great." Clay really wanted to tape his friend's mouth shut right now, inviting such trouble on the first day, dude, seriously?

Before Clay, Josh, and Jake could ready up for a fight, the chubby guy from earlier appeared and sided with Clay and Josh.

"Look at what we have here." Jake barely barked out through gritted teeth, enraged that several peasants dared to stand up against him for the first time all at once, not one peasant, not two, but three at the same time! Just the thought of it made him boil in rage.

"Hahahaha." Jake laughed coldly before he gestured his hand towards them, conjuring a ball of flame the size of a horned rabbit. The sudden heat startled the people around them as they quickly shuffled away from the group.

"You're not the only one with powers here, pal." The plump boy approached Jake as a slightly glossy orange sheen started spreading out throughout his body, beginning from his head and flowing downward.

'Great, just great—' Clay couldn't continue his train of thought as an explosion of flames suddenly forced him and Josh back.

Clay hurriedly turned to Josh, relieved to find that he was unscathed from that attack.

Clay let out a sigh.

"Seriously, man. Can't we just chill for a second...." Clay swiftly retreated, with Josh following behind.

As the dust and flames died down, 5 silhouettes could be seen from within.

"Now, now, settle down children. Don't go starting fights on the first day." Charlot chuckled as she appeared suddenly between Jake and the chubby person, who almost looked like a ball of metal if one didn't look closely enough.

Beside Charlot stood two other people, Tom, a bald well-built man who wore a casual outfit, giving off a gentle but confident vibe. And Rafael who wore scholar clothes and a pair of glasses, making him look unassuming but still exuding a presence.

Clay breathed out a sigh of relief, seeing that the situation most likely won't escalate any further, now that the adults have arrived.

"Mind explaining what's going on here, young man?" Tom addressed Clay.

"Huh?" Clay pointed towards himself, looking around to make sure he wasn't the one being spoken to.

Unfortunately for Clay, there was no one around him except for Josh who was behind him.

"M-Me?" Clay sputtered out.

"Yes, you, young man, no need to be all nervous." Tom gave out a hearty chuckle.

"Can you tell us what happened here, boy?" Charlot asked Clay.

"U-Uh.... He started it!" Clay quickly snitched and pointed at Jake.

"Is this true?" Charlot turned towards Jake, who was trembling quietly in rage.

Seeing that she was getting no response, she instead turned towards the other student involved in this incident.

"May I ask for your name, boy?" Charlot asked the still metal-looking plump boy.

"Khael, it's Khael Sagli." Khael replied, releasing his control on his power seeing that the situation has more or less calmed down now.

Charlot nodded.

"Mind explaining what led to a fight between two students on their first day, Khael?" Charlot questioned again.

"Well.... It started like this..." Khael explained what had instigated this fight, starting from the very beginning.

...

..

.

"Alright, so it is indeed this young man's fault." Tom nodded as he turned to look at Jake, who was still fuming but less than before as some clarity began to seep in.

Tom sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Jake Solaceaer Emberlain, son of Duke Emberlain, truly a fitting name. This is going to be troublesome." Tom sighed again as he could already imagine a furious Duke Emberlain showing up to their doors if they handled this wrong.

"Regardless, such behavior cannot be tolerated within the Academy." Rafael spoke for the first time.

"Indeed, how should we address this matter?" Charlot mused.

"Why don't we just subtract his credits or something? Not really harmful but also not lenient." Tom proposed an idea.

"That.... That's actually one of the smartest things you've said in a while." Charlot raised her eyebrows in mild surprise. Hinting at an indirect insult, causing a vein to pop on Tom's shiny forehead.

"Alright, we'll go with that then?" Tom suppressed his anger as he confirmed the proposal.

"That is indeed the most safest decision here, good thinking, Tom." Rafael voted in favor.

"It's decided then! Jake Solaceaer Emberlain, would be receiving a fifty percent deduction on current academy credits and future academy credits earned for a month." Charlot clapped her hand once as everyone agreed on this punishment.

Meanwhile, Jake stayed silent throughout, only gazing coldly towards Khael, and occasionally towards Clay and Josh as well.

"Alright, now that that's done, I guess we can proceed to the announcements now?" Charlot added.

"Everyone gather around and listen closely, for the rest of today, you may choose to get familiar with all the facilities within the academy except the training grounds, you may enter the cafeteria or the lounge and anywhere else, however you must be back inside your respective dorms before midnight. Understood?"

Clay and the other students nodded along.

"Additionally, tomorrow would be the actual start of your academy life, make sure to wake up early before sunrise, or else you would miss out on the activities planned for tomorrow, am I clear?"

"That is all, you are now free to spend the rest of your time doing anything, just don't go around causing trouble senselessly." The last part was directed towards Jake and the others as she glanced their way.

Clay could only shake his head helplessly, wondering how he got lumped into that warning.
