Charlot inspected the map that Clay had handed to her.
"Hmm, this seems like any normal map, how do I activate that function you mentioned?"
"Just think of where you want to look at in the map, then, you should be able to look around that area, I don't really know how it works, but it just does." Clay explained.
"Alright, let's see..."
Right after she spoke, her eyebrows shot up in surprise.
"Oh!" Charlot exclaimed.
"This screen in front of me, it's the map yes?"
"Yes it should be." Clay answered.
"Ah... I can move it around." Charlot muttered, impressed at the functions.
"This is indeed very useful, I could already imagine the things this could be used for." Charlot nodded, the woman beside her jotting down notes whenever Charlot spoke.
Suddenly, Charlot's eyes turned to slits as she turned to Clay, her voice dripping with coldness.
"You are not using this map for any.... vulgar and depraved means are you..?"
Clay felt shivers run down his spine.
"N-no, n-not at a-all, Miss, Instructor Charlot." Clay shook his head rapidly, his entire body shaking in fear for some reason.
"Oh, that's great then!" Charlot clapped her hands once, satisfied after knowing Clay hadn't used it for some disrespectful acts.
"That's it for the test, just wait over there, next person please." Charlot gestured to a spot as she instructed Clay to wait there, then, she turned towards Josh who was next in line.
Clay wiped the sweat of his brows once he got away from Charlot, that woman was scary.
'It's right to be afraid of women, I felt like I was at death's door.' Clay swallowed a mouthful of saliva as he turned back to glance at Charlot's figure behind him.
"That was a close one." Clay muttered.
Josh stood in front of Charlot as she gestured him to come forward.
"So whats your ability?"
"It's a combat type, I can essentially 'store' my attacks and release them whenever I want." Josh explained.
Hearing this, Charlot's interest was piqued.
"Care to demonstrate?"
Charlot waved her hand in the area in front of her casually.
Suddenly, the space in front of her warped and before anyone could blink, an object had appeared instantaneously in the are where previously there was nothing.
Josh raised his eyebrows in amazement as a silent 'woah' escaped his lips.
Charlot patted the object which was actually a training dummy that was used by the students for practice.
"Just do your thing on this little guy, he can handle it." Charlot flashed a thumbs up while leaning on the dummy's shoulder.
Josh nodded as he prepared his attack.
"Hup!" Josh punched out, hitting the dummy straight in the face.
Everyone expected the dummy to be blown away from the punch, but strangely the dummy didn't even budge from the punch.
Josh pulled back his fist and dusted his hands off, much to the confusion of the crowd.
Then, he raised his left hand and snapped.
Thump
The dummy's head blasted into the air a few meters away the moment he snapped, with no clear sign of the cause of the sudden action.
The woman beside Charlot nodded as she began writing down her notes fiercely.
"Impressive, that is going to be quite useful in combat, enemies won't be able to react to an unseen attack." Charlot clapped.
Josh gave a sheepish smile as he rubbed the back if his head.
"Alright next!"
...
..
.
"Alright, since everyone is done with their tests, todays activities are now finished, everyone is dismissed, you may choose to spend the rest of the day however you want, though, the training grounds are still not accessible for the first years."
Charlot announced once the last student finished the test.
"Gather around at the front of the dormitories tomorrow in the morning, we will be assigning your classes as it will officially start tomorrow, that is all."
Charlot dismissed everyone as she began taking her leave alongside the other instructors.
Soon, one by one, the students also left the area.
"That took quite a while, its around noon now and we started at sunrise." Clay yawned.
"Mm, wanna go eat, I'm hungry after all that." Josh stretched his arms.
"Yeah, I could go for food right now. You guys coming?" Clay turned towards Khael and Steve.
"Yeah, we'll come with." Steve agreed.
The group made their way towards the cafeteria and ate till they were satisfied.
Thankfully, no conflicts arose at the cafeteria this time around.
Clay and the others were now back at their dorms after enjoying their meals.
"We really need to add some furniture here, there's just too much space." Khael said as he lied down on his bed.
"Where can we even get furniture? I don't think they sell furniture in this academy" Josh chuckled.
"Eh, I'm too tired to think about furniture, I'll take a short nap, someone wake me up when it's dinner time." Clay yawned.
Clay immediately jumped on his bed and tucked himself in his blanket, falling asleep right after.
"..."
"Is he already asleep?"
"I wish I could fall asleep that fast."
...
..
.
Clay woke up in the same bed he slept in yesterday, he was feeling renewed and full of energy.
Clay sat up and took a moment to gather his thoughts before heading to the cafeteria to eat once again.
However, one glance at the others told him that something was amiss.
Everyone was asleep.
Clay sighed.
'Didn't I tell them to wake me up before dinner?' He shook his head.
Clay looked outside, apparently it was already morning, remembering that they had to be at the entrance of the dormitories by morning, Clay hastily woke everyone up.
"Wh-what's up, Clay?" Josh rubbed his eyes as Clay shook him awake.
"Get up, we have to be outside in a few minutes." Clay explained.
"Huh? What are yo—OH! You're right!" Josh shot up, fully awake this time.
"Go wake up the others, I'll check what's going on outside."
Clay turned around to leave once he made sure that Josh was awake.
"Yeah, sure, I'll wake them up." Josh stood up, stretching his entire body.
Clay then exited the dorms, heading towards the entrance of the dormitories where he could already see a few people gathering around.
