Tiffany observed the girl who was absorbed in her work before turning her attention toward the books that were nearby.
She continued to look through some books on engineering and similar topics before experimenting with what was available.
The girl close to her was one of the few people in her class and in the school whom she talked to.
Tiffany had come to know her a little better after spending a little time together, so she was able to find out a little about her.
She was called Reina Brew, and the Quirk she possessed was actually very useful and unique in many ways.
The problem was that such a Quirk had its drawbacks and would not be so useful in most situations that a hero would be involved in.
That type of situation happened often when people possessed Quirks that would not be able to get past the basic tests to qualify to join most hero schools, especially the ones that tested combat capabilities and counted the number of villains or targets that had been defeated.
It was a Quirk that was far for suited than the Quirk Tiffany possessed for finding out the secrets of others and gathering intel.
The Quirk was the type that let Reina enter the memories of others after making contact with them, but it worked best when she was touching their head.
Tiffany had learned that Reina possessed such a power since Reina had disliked being close to others and had often worn clothes that covered her skin.
Even her hands were often covered with a pair of gloves when she was indoors, and such things were usually banned from the school dress code.
Certain allowances were made for her as a result of what her Quirk could do.
It let her enter the memories of others and navigate through them like she was actually there.
She would be something like a ghost or spectre within those memories, as she would be able to navigate through each memory to observe each of them as she went from one to the next.
It worked with most people, but there would always be others who would possess a Quirk that could negate the activation of a Quirk in some way, or they could possess an extremely strong spirit or willpower, allowing them to resist anyone who tried to pry into their memories.
It was something like a memory world that she entered, but she had described it as being able to walk through different memories of the person she had touched, as if walking through a corridor and entering the rooms that led her to each set of memories.
Such a place could also be referred to as something like a dream space or something else like a mind palace, depending on how it was viewed.
It was not always so easy to access what she wanted, as each door was not always so easy to identify what she would encounter on the other side.
There was usually a lot of trial and error involved in it, but it could let her pry into the experiences and secrets of anyone she touched, allowing her to pry into their deepest and darkest secrets.
Such a Quirk was actually quite scary, and the applications for it could be put to use quite well if her Quirk was nurtured in the right direction.
It could even be used by a lot of intelligence agencies to extract information from various targets who possessed valuable intel and were not so willing to give it up, even under various uses of torture and interrogation.
The major drawback to the Quirk that Reina possessed was that she fell asleep upon making contact with others once the activation of her Quirk began.
If she was not already lying down in a comfortable position, then it could be imagined what would happen next.
The most obvious result would be her losing control over her body as it would go limp and drop to the floor.
That type of situation could easily result in injuries, so it was a type of Quirk that came with various problems that needed to be paid attention to in her everyday life.
She could not allow herself to touch others so easily, and she had to learn to avoid contact with others as much as possible.
That meant avoiding contact sports and crowded spaces, among other things.
Even if she intended to go through the memories of someone, they needed to cooperate with her and remain still for it to work.
The only other way for it to continue to work would be if they were asleep or held down in some form of restraints so that the contact she had with them would not be broken while she remained asleep and touching them.
