Chapter 10 - DEAL DONE AND EMPLOYEES

Both of them nodded. After listening to her reasoning, Shruti suddenly received a message: "Let them in."

"Yes, sir." She then looked at them and nodded, granting the required permission. Karna put his hand on the doorknob, took a relaxing breath, and murmured, "Let's write the first chapter of our golden history." Arjun, who listened to his murmuring, said, "To Maya," and he opened the door and entered inside.

As soon as he opened the door, a bright light assaulted his eyes, and the cold, chilling air of the AC made his body shudder. After adjusting his eyes, he looked at the people seated inside the room.

Eleven people were seated behind the curved glass table. At the center chair sat an old man in his sixties. He had a long and trim white beard with white hair and wore a black vest over a plain white kurta. There was something different about this person, as the aura he was giving off made everyone look at him.

Karna knew who this man was: Mr. Modi, the current elected Prime Minister of India. Beside him were different ministers of various departments. On his right side was a middle-aged man who was the current Foreign Exchange Minister, along with the Defense Minister, Information and Technology Minister, and many more.

His eyes were especially on the Information and Technology Minister. Seeing these big shots made him a little nervous, as each one of them was a household name in India, especially the Prime Minister, whose rags-to-riches story had greatly inspired everyone in India. Karna respected this man. As he was seeing them, the ministers were doing the same to them.

After a minute of silence, Mr. Modi said, "Young men, I have heard about your idea, and I must say it is very unique and interesting. I and my other ministers think that if used in the right way, it would bring immense prosperity to our nation as well as to the world, and your plan to make a game on such an immense level is a step in the right way. Before you present your demo, please answer my one question."

"Just ask anything, Prime Minister," Karna said politely. "Tell me, are you interested in joining politics?" the Prime Minister asked. Apart from the gaming side, he could see the immense popularity this guy would hold after the launch of his game. So, if he wanted his party to win the upcoming election, he needed some important and popular person to become the face of the party in the next election.

Karna became extremely perplexed after this bizarre and unexpected question; becoming a politician was the last thing he wished. Seeing the confusion and shock on his face, Mr. Modi said, "I was just joking, you don't need to be so serious. Now that we have had our little conversation, can we see the demo?"

The whole room laughed as they were aware of the humorous personality of their Prime Minister. Karna too now felt relaxed as all of his previous nervousness had vanished due to the little joke and friendly nature of the Prime Minister. He then nodded, and several men in black suits brought the required equipment. He put his mini supercomputer on the table and started the same process. This time, he created a simple animal from Earth, which was a horse.

"Wow, it feels like a real animal!"

"It's simply unimaginable; I don't seem to make a difference between this holographic horse and the real horse."

"Hey, look at its eyes; it's looking at us with curiosity."

"So it does show such emotions."

After many shocks and amazed moments, they all calmed down, now completely believing in this technology. The first one to speak was the Defense Minister: "Mister Karna and Arjun, I can see the immense potential use of this technology in the army. So from my side, I vote to make the Maya company one of the Tenth Jewel Companies."

"Hmm, it also becomes helpful for us to study various planets and space in much more detail, along with improving communication. There are also many uses of it at ground level, so I too will vote in favor of it," the Information and Technology Minister said.

One by one, each minister voted in favor of it after stating its benefits in their respective fields. Karna's horizons broadened as, after listening from their mouths, he could see the use of his technology in these fields. At first, his only focus was on making the game, but now he could go and help in other fields after making the game, as it was his main objective and the system's objective.

As everyone gave their votes in favor of it, now only the Prime Minister was left. He then looked at Karna and then started walking toward him. Now that he stood in front of him, he spoke, "I am looking forward to the game that you will make." He then put his hand forward, to which Karna shook with a firm nod.

"Worry not, Prime Minister, I will make a game that will be forever etched in the history of mankind, and also this support, I will remember it."

With that, the historic deal was signed, but they did not announce it to the public, nor did anyone get to know about it. First, they wanted to make this game, and then they wanted to introduce it with a bang.

The government had come to terms with the previous expectation of 20% stakes. They were happy as, with this, the government had provided them with a huge factory building and a huge workplace to make this project. This place was set up on a secret location on Andaman Nicobar Island, as they didn't want others to know about this.

Karna and his team had been given a time of one week to select the finest and most talented game makers and employees. The other small workers, like factory workers and managers, would be provided by the government. Arjun and Karna knew that the government wanted to know how they made the whole system, but even after knowing the making of all the equipment, they would fail to create a life without the digital life core.

And Karna did not want anyone to know about this, so this would be a closed secret from his side. He had said to make a separate workshop for him where he would create the black box, and then they would be given to the creation platform team to attach it.

But now Arjun and the old investors were seated in the same office room. The topic of today's discussion was the game makers. "So, how about we call back our studio employees? They all were quite good," Rekha said.

"Nah, they were good but not loyal. The moment they got to know that the last deal was a failure, they all resigned," Arjun said.

Karna asked in shock, "What? They all resigned!" to which Arjun nodded. "So now we have to look for some new faces. Should we ask the government to help us meet some new faces? I am sure they must have some great contacts," Lucy said.

"No, I can't trust someone on this project whom I have not picked personally. The place and workers are okay, but I want to personally pick the persons who will work on the main project, and I know from where we would find them. I had seen many talented people there," Karna said with a knowing smile on his face.

[Somewhere in the State of Bihar (India)]

Inside a room, a man was teaching a group of students. They all had a computer in front of them, which showed that a computer lesson was going on. All the students were aged 25, and the man was in his thirties. He had a slim body with a small, trimmed beard, short black hair, and light brown skin.

"So, students, this is for today. See you all tomorrow," he said, and after thanking him, the students left the class. The man's name was Shaurya. He was a software engineer and game designer, but he had been kicked out of his office due to a fight between him and the boss.

The problem with Shaurya was that he liked to break the rules of the system. He always wanted to create something that was not bound by the rules, but his former boss would always force them to work in a specific way, like they were some robots whose job was to just do the same things in the same way.

He despised that, and one day he just had enough, and then the fight happened. The company in which he was working was a big and reputed company, so they blacklisted him. So, now, finding a job in any other company was just a vague dream, and also, he did not have a lot of money to open up his own studio because gaming not only requires talent and skills but also requires money.

Seeing no other way, he opened up a small computer class in his town to get some money. The classes were going smoothly. He closed the door and entered a small room behind the door.

"Dinner is ready. Go wash your hands and feet," a sweet voice rang in his ear as soon as he entered the house. With that, a small toddler came crawling towards him, "Dadaaa!"

"Ohh, little pumpkin, how are you? Did you miss your daddy?" Shaurya played with the little guy and then entered the dining room. He placed the little toddler in his bed and then went into the washroom to wash his hands and feet. After that, he came into the dining room to see a beautiful lady preparing his meal.

He smiled at her and then turned on the TV to watch the latest news. They all enjoyed their little family meal. After that, they all went to their room to sleep. Before that, Shaurya sat at his working table with a cup of cold coffee and then opened his computer.

He had a personal blog page where he posted new character designs, game plots, and many other gaming-related things. He just liked to express his ideas to the world. He also created many mobile games which required fewer resources and many touch-and-click games. Though these were games of the low market, still he created some amazing ideas which made him the best. Any sane person can tell that if given resources, he would have made something brilliant.

But this time, when he opened up his PC, an email popped up on the screen. He was about to ignore it, thinking it was a fan message, but then his eyes fell on the video attached to it.

"This is new," but as soon as he clicked on it, a person appeared on the screen, and then after seeing the whole message, he smiled and giggled in excitement. "Well, that was certainly not edited. Looks like it's going to be fun. Haha, Mumbai here I come!"
