"Come, we must take the monster to the sub-basement at once," Sister Rachael stated, her voice urgent.
She wasn't afraid like most people would be, and neither was Sister Diane.
"Mrs. von Yeager will come with me," Sister Diane said. "Mother Superior will see her at once."
Mum hesitated for a moment, but Elara spoke to her.
"Don't be afraid Evangeline. This is the Holy Stat Hall. The people here save and protect monsters like you. It is a sanctuary in a world that hates your kind and the ones who can connect with you," Elara explained.
This reassured her, and she looked at me with a mixture of relief and gratitude. She seemed to be comforted that I was there for her and that I seemed to understand what she was going through. I smiled back at her, hoping to convey my support.
"Elara is right, Mum, it's safe here," I reassured her.
That was all it took before she followed Sister Diane calmly.
"Elara Bedell, I presume? I hadn't expected to see an heir to the Bedell lineage at a Hall ever again. Come, we must take this child to Doctor Aleena Walker. This girl is extraordinarily special," Sister Rachael said.
Sister Rachael calmly took June's hand, and June allowed her to. The sister's gentle touch was like a balm to June's soul, and she felt her tension begin to melt away. Sister Rachael's presence was like a warm blanket on a cold night, and June felt safe and secure in her company. Elara refused to make eye contact with me while we both followed. I supposed it was related to what the sister had communicated. My first thought was, 'What did Sister Rachel mean when she said that Elara was a descendant of the Bedell lineage?' I wished to approach her about it, but someone blocked my path to Sister Rachael.
"How long do I have to wait here and read these damn tomes?" a young man said. "I came here to become an Exorcist, not to read bibles!"
"Evander Schroeder! You will not address a nun in that way! Now, if you mind your manners, please get in line behind the good sire and good miss," Sister Rachael snapped.
The young man was around my age but a little taller and leaner. His crimson-red hair was pulled back over his head, offering an unobstructed view of his angular eyebrows and high cheekbones. Striking crystal blue eyes gave him an intense aura that matched his stoic nose and lips. Though I didn't know him, he instantly caught my attention, drawing me to him like a moth to a flame. I couldn't take my eyes off his handsome face, mesmerized by his silent confidence and natural grace. Though we looked to be the same age, his striking appearance and presence made him seem like an adult among children. I found myself oddly drawn to him, my curiosity piqued by his calm demeanor and sharp wit.
His clothes were military in style but not of this country. It was uncommon for military men to desert or request early discharge, let alone to join the Holy State as an Exorcist. Yet somehow, despite his pristine appearance and manners, this young man had done just that. He moved with the confidence and poise of a seasoned soldier, yet his youthfulness made him seem more like an amateur. His sharp features and stoic demeanor told me that this was no ordinary person but a soldier tasked with fighting for the greater good. His uniform was a mystery to me, but so were most things about him. 'Who was this man, and what secrets did he hide beneath his stoic demeanor?'
Schroeder straightened his back at her scolding. He waited for the sister to go past before joining the queue behind us. His annoyance and frustration were evident to me. I noticed the name Mista Kingdom. That was a Kingdom far from here on another continent entirely. Evander must have traveled for a long time before coming here. As far as the name on his uniform is concerned, the name on the uniform appears to be H. Schroeder. That was either his father or an older sibling. 'Why had he come all the way to a city in the Ephorian Dynasty?'
It wasn't long before we arrived in the sub-basement. Doctor Walker was already expecting June, and she had a wide smile. I was taken aback when June ran to her arms and hugged her.
Doctor Walker hugged June back, "Oh, it's good to see you little June!" Doctor Walker chirped.
"Papa couldn't come, he stayed behind and led the bad guys away," June said.
"I understand, Junebug," Doctor Walker said.
June seemed to be a bit sad, "I've been... I've been okay. Have you heard about the dungeons?"
"The dungeons?" Doctor Walker asked.
"There are these dungeons that are appearing all over the world, with monsters coming out of them," June explained, "And there are people with these powers, like in stories. They're called Awakened..."
"That's... wow," Doctor Walker said, shocked. "Did your Papa tell you this?"
"Yes, he was investigating them for the Prime Mother Superior," June explained.
Doctor Walker nodded at the new information before turning to me and smiled. "Well, it seems you passed your second test. On top of that, you were able to bring Ms. Bedell with you. Mother Superior has had her eye on her ever since her father Laurnce and her moved to the outskirts of the city," Doctor Walker said. "Now, I see you brought this ruffian Evander Schroeder with you as well. All is well, there is one last test that three of you must take."
"Hold on a minute! I've been doing tests for weeks and this skimpy guy and damsel in distress walk right in with no cares in the world? What about the eleven monsters I brought in, huh?" Evander snapped.
"Mind, you manners!" a voice said from behind us.
A towering, pale-skinned sister stood behind Sister Rachael with long hair the color of honey that peeked out from behind her veil. Though her features were partially obscured, there was no hiding the striking beauty hidden beneath. Her pale skin was like marble, and her eyes sparkled with intelligence and wisdom. It isn't easy to make out her true personality, though I can sense an air of warmth and kindness about her. Still, there is no mistaking her beauty, her porcelain skin, and bright eyes drawing me in. Her elegant gown is beautifully crafted, its fabric woven with magical energy that flows from her like a warm and gentle breeze. It's hard to take my eyes off her, caught between her beauty and the mystical power surrounding her.
Despite her veil and quiet demeanor, I could feel her gaze studying me, sizing me up. I tried not to fidget under her scrutiny, but something about her made me uncomfortable yet fascinated. She is stunning, her fair skin accented by her striking green eyes. It is as if I have been caught in a trance; my gaze transfixed by the brilliance of her eyes. They seem to pierce through my very soul as if they know things I do not. I feel drawn to her, her presence like a magnet pulling me closer and closer. I can't help but stare as I'm taken in further by her bewitching enchantment. The spark of magic in her eyes is unmistakable, the mystery and intrigue behind them captivating beyond compare.
As if in a trance, I find myself staring intently, losing myself in their emerald depths. Her beautiful features draw me in, as does her presence, the energy she carries radiating power and grace. Like sapphires set in the ocean, they draw me into her world, compelling me to listen intently and hang onto her every word. It's hard not to be captivated by this woman, my mind racing with the possibilities she presents. Her pale complexion only adds to her beauty, creating contrast against the vibrant green of her eyes that never ceases to enchant. Even her speech is beautiful, every sound rolling off her tongue like a melodic song that brings joy to the ears. Her beauty is undeniable, and she commands the attention of every room she enters with her presence alone.
The woman has a heart-shaped face, thin lips, a feminine nose, thin eyebrows, and prominent cheekbones. Her dark eyes sparkle with intelligence, while her flowing hair, parted in the middle and tied back, adds to the elegance of the picture. She has a serene and graceful countenance, complemented by her long, nimble fingers and elegant hands. Combined with the grace she carries herself with, it is no surprise that she exudes charm and beauty. She might be called beautiful by most, but this term does not begin to encompass the true beauty of her features. There is a softness and gentleness to her face, a sweet nature that shines through despite her striking appearance. Her feminine features are enhanced by a delicate grace, a timeless beauty that leaves me breathless with every glance.
As she walks down the hall, heads turn in awe of her captivating beauty and figure. The sister's chest is voluptuously ample, and she has thick child-bearing thighs and sculpted legs. Her beauty is captivating and leaves others in awe, creating an unforgettable image in the eye of every observer. From her shapely form to her slender yet curvy bottle-shaped physique, she is a work of art that rivals the masterpiece paintings crafted by the greatest artists. And yet, despite her striking appearance, she exudes a grace and elegance befitting her sacred role in the church, a beauty that transcends the physical. Her slender frame and delicate build enhance her feminine appearance. She is not frail by any means, but there is a fragility to her beauty and the way she carries herself that draws others towards her. Her bottle-shaped physique is slender yet curvy, with irresistible soft curves. With every move, she drives others to distraction, leaving them in awe of her stunning feminine beauty. Her beauty took aback both Evander and me. She walked right up to the red-haired man.
"I'm sorry, Sister Faye!" Evander yelped.
"That's Ms. Faye Carter to you, young man!" Sister Faye scolded.
"Ahem, as I was saying, in order to complete this test, you'll be assigned a mentor. But first, you'll need uniforms, a weapon, and gear," Doctor Walker explained. "Come along with me, we shall fetch the required items the three of you will need to fulfill your tasks."
The three of us follow Doctor Walker into the vast laboratory I had seen the night before. However, this time she led us to a new part I hadn't noticed the first time. Aleena brings us into a different laboratory. It was a vast circular room with massive vats of different colored liquids that seemed to bubble as if they were being boiled. I could only wonder what all these machines as I come to know they were, what would take place in this unfamiliar place. A foreboding sense overtook me as I followed Dr. Aleena Walker.
