Chapter 9 - The Black Market?

The duo returned to Greenvale village to purchase more healing potions as well as to try to find more quests. Upon arriving in the village they split up to find quests. Alex walked down the market street. It was filled with shouts of people yelling things like 50 coppers for a stack of stones, and 1 silver for a stack of herbs.

The rowdy market caught Alex's attention because it would be a perfect place to hide a secret base for The Great Underground. She decided to record spots that would be great for a hideout within Redemption Online. As such she walked around the town searching for great hideout spots.

A town bar.

A battle arena.

A house on the edge of town that could only be accessed through the backstreets.

A wealthy restaurant in the most liveliest part of town

Eventually she came upon a street that ended in a dead end that was a hiding place for beggars. She recorded the spot down, but looked strangely at the beggars. Although they were certainly dirty, and unkempt, and had food from trash cans around them, this scene reminded her a lot of one of the secret hideouts in Europe that she had visited that had fake beggars hiding the entrance of the hideout.

As such she decided to investigate the wall. She casually walked up to the walls of the street, and began to carefully inspect them whilst subtly eyeing the beggars out of the corners of her eyes. The beggars' eyes were full of panic, and they seemed to be about to take action, and as such she stopped inspecting the wall, walking up to the beggars.

"Take me to see the boss." She glared at them, and their eyes widened in surprise as they realised that this was a client.

"Is this your first time here?" One of the beggars eyed her, his eyes full of lust.

All of a sudden they watched as Alex simply disappeared before appearing shortly after behind the beggar who had eyed her, and unleashed a [Backstab] knocking his head to the ground in an instant before returning back to where she had stood prior.

"Is that an instantaneous movement skill? No, there was a short pause... So she just has that much agility." The leader of the beggars was shocked.

Alex glared at them before simply saying "What's the condition."

"So you're a regular I suppose? Well normally it would be a test of wealth, and strength, but seeing your strength, just walk right in, it's not like we could stop you." The lead beggar smiled bitterly before pulling out a crystal, and channelling his mana into it causing it to glow. Behind him, the wall opened up to reveal a small passageway downwards into the darkness.

The passageway opened up to a brightly lit street filled with people in black hoods selling stuff in stalls. Alex grinned, this would be her base camp from now on. She walked up to a vendor who had no products on the stall before leaning towards the man, and sliding a couple silvers to him she asked. "How do I get in touch with the boss of this place." The man grinned picking up the silvers before leaning towards her.

"You just gotta accumulate enough reputation here, and you can walk right up to that manor over there, and walk straight in to meet the boss."
